You CAN take Humanities Core, but it's not HUMAN 1A, it's HUMAN 1AS/A, which is for people who have taken the AWPE but were placed in Writing 39A or 37. If you look on WebSOC, it's course codes 29060 - 29082

For UCI, your time for registering for classes doesn't depend on your orientation date.
At least it didn't for me...
You can check your registration date by logging into http://nka.reg.uci.edu/registrar/soc/webreg.html with your UCInet ID and password.
Your enrollment window date and time will show up once you log in, and then you will automatically be logged out.
Hope that helps...^^

registration date depends on how many units u are coming in with. so if u have a lot of units (from ap credits or from other colleges), u will have a faster registration date. IM me if u have any questions because i just finished my 1st year here.

my california ID hasn't arrived yet but my test is next week already!
and i can't reschedule the test because my orientation is the day right after.
is there any kind of waiver or something that would possibly excuse me from having the ID?
i still have my highschool ID..

so i guess we have to choose an interest/major even if you're undeclared? i thought if you just choose FYEP you go through general education and stuff.

There are doors on the bathroom stalls (I think that's what you're asking, right?).
The toilets are basically something you would see in a public restroom...except only used by you and your suitemates.
Also, they're cleaned daily, during the weekdays.
The bathroom in my suite used to be cleaned every other day. Then Spring Quarter... I think the lady got annoyed by how dirty some of my suite mates are and decided not to come as often.

I took Intro to Soc. my first quarter @ UCI with Bailey. Discussions are mandatory because of the quizzes, but the lower score gets dropped. The quizzes were really easy though. Around 2-3 questions about a short story you have to read. His tests were really easy too. If you read the chapters you need to the day before, you can get an A on the test.

I went to 3rd SPOP my freshman year (last year, haha). Some of my friends are on the staff. You're going to have SOOO MUCH FUN. I loved every moment of it. I probably only got around 5 hours of sleep that whole weekend. The drive back home was a little scary.
It depends when other freshmen are registering. I'm suggest not planning out your perfect schedule beforehand cause the classes you want might fill up right before it's your turn to register. Once your window opens, it's like a race to get classes. =x

Edit:
I went to the mini-SPOP, so I'm not sure how the 3-day one worked out like.
