Haha I just saw it too, I'm gonna sign up for it now. But if it's the last orientation..does this mean we get the last choice for classes? Or like..we might not get some classes if they're full? Cause all they said was that we would get the classes we need to graduate.

Nope, it doesn't mean that.
For UCI, your time for registering for classes doesn't depend on your orientation date.
At least it didn't for me...
You can check your registration date by logging into http://nka.reg.uci.edu/registrar/soc/webreg.html with your UCInet ID and password.
Your enrollment window date and time will show up once you log in, and then you will automatically be logged out.

Hope that helps...^^

hi i'm a student at uci and i have always taken at least 4 classes a quarter. i try to balance out my classes. like take 2 time-consuming, verydemanding classes and two not to demanding. it works out pretty good.

registration date depends on how many units u are coming in with. so if u have a lot of units (from ap credits or from other colleges), u will have a faster registration date. IM me if u have any questions because i just finished my 1st year here.

i'm taking a placement test but do not have a government-issued ID card.
my california ID hasn't arrived yet but my test is next week already!
and i can't reschedule the test because my orientation is the day right after.
is there any kind of waiver or something that would possibly excuse me from having the ID?
i still have my highschool ID..

I've already registered for my classes during orientation, but my major was undeclared. They grouped us into our interests, and I was put in health sciences. So my first quarter they said I have to take bio and chem along with writing and uni. studies. I didn't want to take both, bio and chem, at the same time, but the lady said if I don't, I will be behind. So I was wondering, if I call the place and declare a major, will I get to pick new classes for my new major?? And will they tell me what classes i need to take with the major? Thanks in advance. smile.gif

nevermind, I got a different answer

thank youuuu, that helps a lot ^^

so i guess we have to choose an interest/major even if you're undeclared? i thought if you just choose FYEP you go through general education and stuff.

I just finished my first year too and your enrollment window does NOT depend on how many units you have. Many think it does, but that doesn't seem to be true. My roommate and I went in with the same amount of units, in the fall, but she had an earlier enrollment window than me. About a week earlier. Then, for Spring quarter, I got an earlier enrollment window than several people in my dorm who had more units than me. So it does NOT depend on your units. I think it may depend on your school...or major...or something. Who knows? You just can't predict it...

I'm not sure if that's considered late. School is starting a week later this year (than last year). So I guess enrollment windows may be a bit later too.

No, bathroooms are NOT co-ed. ^^
There are doors on the bathroom stalls (I think that's what you're asking, right?).
The toilets are basically something you would see in a public restroom...except only used by you and your suitemates.
Also, they're cleaned daily, during the weekdays.

The bathroom in my suite used to be cleaned every other day. Then Spring Quarter... I think the lady got annoyed by how dirty some of my suite mates are and decided not to come as often. sad.gif It got pretty disgusting.

I took Intro to Soc. my first quarter @ UCI with Bailey. Discussions are mandatory because of the quizzes, but the lower score gets dropped. The quizzes were really easy though. Around 2-3 questions about a short story you have to read. His tests were really easy too. If you read the chapters you need to the day before, you can get an A on the test.

I went to 3rd SPOP my freshman year (last year, haha). Some of my friends are on the staff. You're going to have SOOO MUCH FUN. I loved every moment of it. I probably only got around 5 hours of sleep that whole weekend. The drive back home was a little scary. phew.gif

It depends when other freshmen are registering. I'm suggest not planning out your perfect schedule beforehand cause the classes you want might fill up right before it's your turn to register. Once your window opens, it's like a race to get classes. =x

For incoming freshmen, your enrollment window opens the day of your SPOP. It stays open for 48 hours so you can make any changes. But it does fill up FAST. My SPOP was July 20th. I signed up for classes on that day but when I checked back a day later, I saw that many classes were filled up already. But no worries, I think you will be able to enroll into the classes you want, just that you might not get your first choice on time. SPOP was awesome btw.

Edit:
I went to the mini-SPOP, so I'm not sure how the 3-day one worked out like.
