Ive heard that dorms are filled with only freshmen, and for some reason everybody switches to apartments the next year. True or false?

I'd say true. For the most part, only freshmen live in the dorms (except RAs, CPs, Programmers). UCI's two year of guaranteed housing also offers Vista del Campo, Vista del Campo Norte, and Campus Village as an option for second years besides living in the dorms. I guess most people choose to go to apartments because they can have single rooms or more living/private space?

True, because dorms are ONLY for freshmen, unless you apply for a position as RA or CP. Everyone who lived in the dorms for all of first year are guaranteed housing their second year at VDC, VDCN, CV, or AV. and that's why most people live in apartments the next year

anddd... I was going to go to the CA meeting, but most of my friends seem to be anti-clubs [heard CA was really boring/not worth it] <_< maybe I should just go without them & meet new people =D
QUOTE(vc1188 @ Sep 29 2007, 10:04 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
yes! don't let your anti-club friends ruin your experience. after going to orientation, I'm really excited. the people seem reeeeally spirited and crazy (in a good way)
Yes! CA is fun! :D
I joined last year. The meetings can be a little boring + long, but they try to make it fun.
Plus they always have an after event afterwards that is lots of fun.
And they've got lots of activities planned throughout the year.
I'm sad I can't join again this quarter, cuz I've got a night class on Thursdays. :[

Yeah, it's infamous for being SUPER slow.
Once, it took me like 12 minutes to load a 10 minute Youtube video X___X

It's pretty ridiculous that it takes so long to load a video or even just a google page. mad.gif There's a number floating around Norte where we can call and complain... but I don't think it's going to help. sad.gif

... oh heck, I'll give it a try tomorrow - 1-866-559-4223. <- go complain!

I live in Norte! A lot of people on soompi (or whoever seems to be posting) seem like they're second years - or maybe that's just how it seems to me. Anyway, I'm in discussion right now... and internet is so much faster. <3

They have some cheap jewelry and sunglasses. I guess the clothes are average price, but you can probably find the same style w/ better material at forever 21 or something. Some of the hats are really cute too! I've never bought one though, I don't know if I'd actually wear it. haha. The fake bags are pretty expensive though. They don't even look real. blink.gif

The kettle corn is SOOO GOOD. It stays fresh for like, a week after you buy it too! If you want to try it, I think they'll give you some to sample smile.gif

I... don't think so. Only freshmen.
Besides, if I were you, I'd get your own housing.
It's MUCH cheaper. Plus, you won't be forced to buy an expensive meal plan (the food gets gross within a week - usually).
And really, it's NICE being off campus. It's more comforting... I think.
I love VDC. It's great for getting away from school-related junk.

I have a problem
Housing payments are due oct. 17.
I received my financial aid stuff on the 26 of sept. and deposited that day at an atm.
I turned in my housing payment that day as well.
I didn't know it takes a few days to process...
So............... the housing payment still hasn't been taking out of my account.
I'm guessing because it probably got processed, but I didn't have enough money in my account so they didn't take it out...
My roommate turned hers in the same day, and the money was taken out on the first of oct.

So, what do i do now??? Wait to see if they take it out? Or should i go ask them?

Please and Thank You!

Sorry if I may have confused o.o

^ You should definitely call them and ask what's the status on your payment.
October 17 is getting close, so I don't think it's smart to just continue waiting...

yep, still very smokey outside. I couldn't stop sniffling and coughing. Even now, in my room, my eyes are kind of sore and my throat is scratchy
Today at school, I could hear coughs all around me. I feel really bad for those with bad allergies or asthma
