Yup. I'm pretty sure they only accept 50 students per year (ie. only 50 first years, 50 second years). It will also be harder to get in as a change of major or a transfer student because it depends how many first years they accept that year. For example, since there are 50 spots.. if they accept 47 students, then only 3 stops are available to change of major/transfers. If you have any questions, you can PM me if you want. : )

scheduled blackout tonight. It's not that much that having no electricity bothers me.. it's that people get even more stupid when there's a blackout. ie, people streaking and setting trash cans on fire last year in Mesa.

i've been in a rush the last few hours finishing up homework, using the computer, cooking and eating dinner, doing laundry etc., before the blackout. I was all ready for the power to go off at 9:59 and when it hit 10:00 nothing happened. now it's been over an hour and still nothing, lol. THEY TRICKED US!

i heard that people also got some of their things stolen last year

^ i think it was only the east (?) side of campus that had a scheduled blackout from southern california edison. so ridiculous. when i got back to my apt from class yesterday @ 5, there were two police cars & police officers standing guard already waiting for the blackout. the elevators were closed too : ( [yes, i'm lazy. hahah] it took almost two hours for the blackout to happen i think?

one of my dormmates couldn't find her laptop after the blackout last year. O_O" her boyfriend had it last apparently. she didn't look pissed, she just told her bf... "you better find it. "

on another note, anyone super stressed about finals? i feel like i'm going crazy worrying about it this quarter. and for any 1st year bio majors/nursing majors here, don't take CUMSKY for biochemistry. he posted his final from 2007 yesterday on his website. omfg 13 pages of pure memorization. and i heard the mean was around 40/112 for one year too. sorry, that's just me venting.

The power outage sure was interesting! Weird how it started at 12 instead of 10. But right when the power went out, I heard everyone outside SCREAM haha. it was crazy. Then one of my roommates and I walked down The Great Street (literally from end to end, then back again) but nothing really interesting was happening. haha my friend said he saw some guys streaking though

and YES, I AM STRESSED OUT. I only have two finals (and two "midterms") but for some reason I'm overwhelmed. I also have to write a paper. DYIIING

I applied for UCI as undeclared, but really I'm thinking of majoring in Public Health sciences. does UCi have that major? and since I applied underclared, how do i switch to this major?

Yup, UCI has a public health sciences major within the College of Health Sciences.

If you get in (you probably will), go to the student-parent orientation program (SPOP) during the summer. During the school-specific sessions, they'll provide change-of-major forms for you to change/declare your major. It's a really simple process and your major will be changed within a few days/weeks (you'll be able to see the change online).

I was wondering if any of you guys are majoring in Biomedical Engineering: Premed?
I just got admitted to UCI for that..... and I'm sort of freaking out because I have a C in AP Bio right now.. and I got a C+ first semester. Will this jeopardize my admission? Should I contact them about this right now?
I'm hella scared that they'll revoke my admission once they receive my transcript at the end of the year.

^I think if you got a C it's fine. Just don't get anything lower than a C- but do try to raise it up. I got a D in Calc 1st semester and it was not fun worrying of getting my admission revoked.

They sent my admission packet really late like in april. But I checked online and at exactly 12:19 am on March 31st, they accept me or notified me. Greaaatt..?

i am really excited about UCI next year. at first i was kinda bummed i didn't get into davis but what i'm hearing about irvine i really like :]

did anyone else that got in have to send in proof they are a US citizen too? because i have to send it in and they said the social security service thing couldn't verify my citizenship though i have a passport. it's weird. .___.
