will there be business admin for transfer next fall?
or have to wait till fall2010 sad.gif

I think transfers can apply, but priority is given to incoming freshmen.

I also posted this in the class of 2012 thread but I am interested in finding a roommate for UCI~ Any other incoming freshmen also looking for one?

I've finally decided on going to UCI, and having a Soompi roommate would be awesome because we'd understand each other's obsessions better~ I am Caitlin, I am from southern California, I am caucasian, I love everything Korean, and I cannot wait for college. :) There are Facebook and MySpace links in my signature if you want to know more.

I want to dorm in Middle Earth, and the theme I want is Interpersonal Relationships because it seems like that'd be a good friend-making theme. xD So let me know if those happen to be your preferences too, hehe, because we could be roommates!

Also, a couple questions from a survey for more details:
What kind of a relationship do you want with your roommate?
I would like for us to be friends and to be able to talk to each other about things. :)
Describe your personality.
I am shy and quiet; people usually need to know that so that they don't think I hate them or anything just because I'm timid. But I can be a good friend and I do like having good conversations. I am open-minded (liberal for sure) and I do love to have fun rather than just constant work (though work is still important!). Also, if I'm living with you, you might not even notice that I'm shy, because I tend to open up more to people who I live under the same roof with!
You prefer a roommate who is...
Basically, just open-minded! Accepting of other people! Able to negotiate! Optimistic and a positive attitude~
Do you smoke or drink? Do you care if your roommate does?
I do NOT smoke or drink or do drugs. And I think I would care if my roommate did, because that stuff can mess you up. :/

I am studying abroad in Korea for 2 semesters!
Read about it here (WordPress) or here (Tumblr).

How easy do you think it'd be for me to switch my major to business administration? the major i got in for is business information management. i was researching both majors, and if i went to UCI, i think i'd want to do BA since it's more business related than BIM

pretty easy actually...especially because you're an incoming freshman. i think it would be easy to do it at the orientation...i don't remember the details but i believe there's a time at orientation when they introduce you to your program and give you the opportunity to change majors by just filling out a form.
and then you can always change it when you've started school.

I hated biochem last quarter, but now that I think about it.. it wasn't that bad, actually kinda fun. haha.

i did think that bio98 was tough and painful but in the end...it turned out ok. i do hate bio99 though x_x i hated prof cocco. but i just took her blah-ish midterm. i'm so glad her part is over...now Cumsky will take over, i love his teaching style happy.gif
i thought that ribbe's accent would make M122 hard but i actually understand what he's saying...very glad. though it sucks that we have to learn about metabolism again. but then again...its easier to study the 2nd time around.

It's SUPER easy to change your major before your first quarter starts. When you go to SPOP, get a "change of major" form and fill it out. Within like, a week, your major will be updated (check via the admissions website)

If you wait until school starts, though, you'll have to fulfill the prerequisites first

I have friends in both programs. I don't really know much about the AA studies major, but my friend in film and media seems to like it.

quick question about the dorms - on the housing website it said that you arent allowed to bring electronic appliances like rice cookers and water heaters, is that really enforced? I especially want my coffee and espresso machine, I'll bring it if i have to hide it under my bed!

It's fine. I had a water heater, as did others. My friend had a small coffee machine too, and no one ever got caught. Just put them away when they check the rooms over Christmas break

Actually priority is given to transfer students because Universities know that community college students have no where else to go.

ACTUALLY, as I just learned, that transfers can't apply until Fall 2010

The Merage School intends to enroll 150 majors per academic year, beginning in Fall 2008 with freshman enrollees. Applications for transfer students and change of majors will be accepted for the Fall of 2010, with approximately 8-10% of the 150 majors entering per year being transfer students or change of majors (totaling approximately 15 students).

^omg really???

what are your classes like? do you mainly analyze film and media or do you actually get to work with equipment and make short films?

do you plan on becoming a film director? or working for the entertainment industry?
