HYPE. i hate when music is on the radio and everyone gets "into" it. and they end up playing it out. don't you wish you could keep the good songs to yourself? without having everyone else hear it and play it out. and ruin it. UNDERGROUND vandel is what i dig. mainstream music is okay, sometimes. some songs.
I HATE HYPE! few years ago, people din't even know Mac Dre ! now that he died, everyone is like "OH.. RIP MAC DRE" when they don't even freaking listen to his music! only cuz EVERYONE ELSE DOES. i hate it! i hate hype!

I hate hype too. )x
That's what happened to The Killers. I loooved them until everyone got into the damn scene and then everyone became "OMGKILLERFANS". Even worse is the fact The Killers FEED off of that hype. They even redid the "Mr. Brightside" video just to please the mainstream. Grr. ):< THe newer one is nice and all, but the old one just shows them best before they became overthetop popular.
Also goes for Death Cab for Cutie. They aren't as mainstream as mainstream goes, but they're the most mainstream indie I've ever heard of ever. People are ALL over their more mellow cliche sounds of Plans, but their ecleticism in their early albums like "You Can Play These Songs With Chords" is truly awesome.

um.. yea bands that go mainstream also go FAMOUS. and they make money. i think they kinda like that. its true a bunch of music gets ruined by the radio because its way overplayed. but you know theres a simple solution to avoid hearing it
.
and keeping the good music to yourself? lmao like taking all the copies and stashing them somewhere safe and secret? just a little selfish imo
yes ill admit it annoys me when people only like mainstream music just because its popular. but you know what also makes me mad? when people only like underground bands simply for the fact that theyre unknown by everyone else, then when they become famous, people are all like, oh i cant like them anymore because theyre mainstream now. good music is good music. period dot. i honestly dont care if its mainstream or underground. if its good and i like it, ill listen to it and ill encourage others to listen too.

I get that feeling sometimes too. 'Cause fangirls and such just tick me off. And being mixed in with that is just...

Mainstream's not all that bad. *shrugs* eh, I just categorize it all into music. despite whether or not the artists act like jerks.

Hahha yes, it does get quite annoying when some people become suddenly obsessive about a band you have liked for a long while before. But all you can do is keep supporting them or let them go. Really, the breakthrough for the band is either both bitter and sweet.
