I haven't been able to watch this series until today and oh my, I think I've cried more than one liter of tears! Episode 7 and 8 was so touching, I haven't cried so much in a long time. When I came into this thread, the first thing I saw was the spoiler to Episode 9, I cried again. If the spoiler makes me cry, then it'd be worse when I watch it. I seriously think that this drama is so inspiring! I'm in the Interact club at my school. It's a club that helps people who are in need like people with disabilities and diseases. After watching this drama, I realize that my decision for joining this club was right. I truly believe that this drama is an inspiration to anyone who watches it. I think I'm depressed now mellow.gif

I reply way too much to this thread now but this drama is my very favorite right now so I just can't leave it alone rolleyes.gif

^ Yeah, in the summary I left out any major talk that would be a big spoiler so the actions alone are sad but if you see the whole episode and understand what everyone is saying, it's extremely sad. I can't wait for episode 10.

edit; did some caps highlighting the best moments (mainly Aya & Haruto scenes) for ep 9. Made it a thumbnail in case people want to skip it as a major spoiler.

Haruto's confession monologe in episode 9
gomen for the grammer/spelling error
my editor hasn't gone through this yet

Can I say it out loud what I feel right now? What is going to happen in the future, I dont' know. But, right now's feeling is 100% not a lie. I can confidently say that, for me, as long as you said it, no matter how slow, it's still sound nice. If can't say it clear on the phone, then just like this, I'll come directly to see you. I'm not a dolphin, you too aren't a dolphin. If you want to walk, no matter how slow, I will walk with you. Maybe right now I'm still not that reliable. But one day maybe I'll be able to help. It can't be like before, because there is this kind of feeling linking us. I won't agree that we live in a different world.

Awwww, that must be one of the sweetest confessions ever, if he could speak it out loud to Aya. I also notice how he made the reference to Aya walking like a dolphin. I remember in one of the episodes, Aya's little sister was referring to her walking like a dolphin. Ouch, that kinda hurt, but it's one cute comparison. I am now dreading the coming of episode 10, seeing how fast Aya's illness has progressed. All those tears and suffers, argh... I'm glad Aya has a very caring and loving family to back her up in time of hardship.

Thank you aipeachie for the translation. Kind of got the jist what Haruto said already but it's worth going back to read the translation and watching that scene again. Makes perfect sense to me what he said there.

Yeah, Rika-chan (Aya's lil' sis) said she walked like a penguin not a dolphin.

yupe rika said Aya was walking like a penguin
as for why he used dolphin
it was because during the date, he told Aya that dolphins can still talk to each other when they are far away from each other. And aya said how she wished humans are like that, and are able to communicate each other even though they are seperated

Just watched Episode 8. My favorite episode yet.

In the previous episodes, a tear escape my eyes a few scene here and there, but in this episode - I was bawling during the entire episode. The scene in the bridge was so heartbreaking. And when they were singing their choir song.

I cant wait for episode 9 - and Haruto is my ideal man. smile.gif

and I own this page hehe biggrin.gif
xoxoxo~

Haha, my bad, I can't imagine why I think penguin is dolphin. Anyway, both are cute, lol.

Oh My Goodness! This is one of the best sad/tragic Japanese drama that I've seen so far. It's a great show!

I watched the first four episodes that were hardsubbed (thanks to pb-fansub team smile.gif...and than for episodes 5-9...it was all in raw...but obviously I couldn't understand much of it...considering how limited I am in speaking/understanding Japanese, so those I had to skim quickly over...but I couldn't help it and downloaded Korean subs to watch the episodes fully...which I'm also thankful for. I can't wait to finish this drama up to episode 9.

Aya and Asou...they make a good couple!

okay...so i finally got the guts to watch episode 8...and man, i was BAWLING!!!!

i only shed a tear or two for the first seven episodes, but this one, OMG!!!! my eyes are still red right now..and my nose is feeling stuffy sad.gif i started crying when she was talking to her family about how much she loved them, then later on when she was formally saying goodbye to her class, but i cried so much more when the whole class was suddenly running outside and then haruto begins singing...sad.gif sad.gif sad.gif

i wanna slap those mean parents for saying such harsh things to aya's mom...i feel like strangling them all and asking them "wat if this happened to ur own kid huh? wud u still be acting all high and mighty???" stupid stuck up parents...

anyways~ yeah...i rili did cry 1 litre of tears for this one episode...poor aya...but thanks haruto rolleyes.gif

I thought that while the parents of Aya's other classmates seemed to come off as stuck-up, they were also thinking about their own children's education. Unfortunately, even though Aya does not wish to hinder their learning with her constant need for help because of her illness, she does while being at school with them. Of course, if it was their own kid, the situation would probably be the same that there will be complaints.

^hmm..i thot about that too

but when i was reading their lines, it kinda seemed like they thought their kids helping aya out was a bad thing when it really wasn't..then again, u do have a point. they were jst concerned for their kids after all...i jst thought they were being too harsh on aya and her mom sad.gif they made it sound like they wanted her out, and out FAST

Yeah I agree with you, sweet_treats1812 that the parents come off as harsh. I felt sorry for Shioka (Aya's mom) because the other parents don't understand what she is going through. I really love the parents, they are great.

Ahh...Episode 8 was by far one of the saddest episodes...I cried in the part where Ako was yelling at Hiro in a previous episode, but in episode 8 when the class was singing...I cried so much! =(

This is one of the two things I have ever cried in.

i think that the way the closeness of the family is depicted is one of the many strengths of this drama. even though haru was nonexistent in the real aya's life, i sure hope that the kind of bond she has with her family as depicted in this drama is real...it's so touching to see the love and support they have for one another. i particularly enjoy ako's bickering with their dad... laugh.gif "stupid daughter..." hahahahaha~
