Microsoft rolled out a series of patches late Tuesday night for Windows XP, but the US Department of Homeland Security has warned that one bug patch should be implemented immediately.
Homeland Security said security patch MS06-040 will fix a critical patch that could allow other people to take over computers.
The vulnerability, it said, "could impact government systems, private industry and critical infrastructure, as well as individual and home users."

If you don't already know, to keep your computer patched and safe, always check windows update (usually most XP machines are set to automatically notify you of updates with SP2).
Check http://update.microsoft.com
As always, make sure you have a firewall, spyware scanner and anti-virus software enabled.

Homeland Security actually recommended a Windows Update patch? Wow, that must be a first. I hope this Microsoft isn't installing Windows Advantage under-the-table with these updates.
