I'm asking for a friend:
She's attending UBC in Sept., going into BCom (1st year) and she's not sure of how many courses to take. Right now, she has Eng, Math, 2 Comm classes, Econ, and Psyc (as an elective). Is that an okay workload..or is it too much? (P.S.: she wants an easy-to-moderate workload)
Thanks!!!

i think 5 courses will be good. cut it down to 4 if she wants easy to moderate .. but i dont think UBC allows that right ?

those are her first term classes
Oh.. 6 full credit (3-4 credits) per course is a heavy workload.
But I think your friend is under the new BCOM program where the one of the COMM classes she's taking is a 1 credit course over two terms (COMM 299)... which basically isn't even a course...
So this looks like a regular course load to me. She should be fine.
Yeah she could cut down to 4 during the year, and make up for those credits in the summer to be promoted to second year. But as usual, if it would be any "easier" it depends on the person..
