I think it was here that I saw a thread on it, but I'm not sure. There was a way to make your firefox web browser go faster by tweaking the settings a litte? Does anyone know what I'm talking about or how to do this?

I had to completely reboot my computer and I can't remember where I got this info from. I need this back on my computer!

^thanks. It wasn't exactly what i was looking for, but it's good enough.

I have some other questions...how do I change the homepage? I tried going into properties to see if I could change it but that option wasn't there.

Also, everytime I download something, Mozilla asks if i was to Run with [put program here] or if I want to save it to my computer. Usually, I would save these things to my computer, but with Mozilla it doesn't ask WHERE i want to save the files. It just saves straight to my desktop. Anyone know how I can change this?

Thanks!

Tools -> Options -> Downloads.

Some extensions related to downloads : Download Statusbar, DownloadThemAll!, FlashGot, Iget, MediaPlayerConnectivity, VideoDownloader.

Thanks.

By the way, I found the way I was looking for in the first place. It it like 10 times faster than the extension provided by Mozilla, and if anyone wants it, click here:

There was some argument over what "network.http.pipelining.maxrequests" actually did.

Some argue that it chews away at bandwidth, while others say it doesn't. Then some say firefox has a default limit to like 10 requests at once, so any number above would automatically be void or something.

I still have no clue what it does sleep.gif

That's the part that actually made my brower work a lot faster. Even with downloads...usually i'd get anywhere between 50-200 kb/s, but now I get like 300 and up.
