it would probably make a good drag racer

it might be moving, you just can't tell because it's a picture. that thing looks ridiculous. imagine you were standing behind it and all of a sudden that guy started the engine.

not in ignition phase. think of it as a simple high school chemistry class lab with the bunsen burner.
as you can see, the 'fireball' is rather yellow and red and the flame is irregular. this is more of a product of fuel combustion with minimal amounts of oxygen. if the jet engine consumed a balanced amount of fuel and oxygen, it will spew blue flame/cone pattern, and ultimately the car should be moving because of the rapid expulsion of CO2.
