simple question on laptop

hi i am getting a laptop soon, but i have a question on it. is there such thing as voice record on it without using a microphone or and device attach to it? i mean can it be like built in and when you turn on a program so that it just records every sound surronding you? i don't really know about these computer things. so can anyone help me. thanks!

some computers probably have built in mic's. one that i actually know that does is my sister's Apple Powerbook.

one of the sony vaio has a built-in and mic and cam.

Yes, my laptop has a built in microphone.

Today I am one workout stronger than yesterday!

I know my dad's laptop has a built in mic, but I am not even sure if mine does or not.

You can't record any sound if you don't have a microphone... of course, assuming there is one, then yes, you can just run the Voice Recorder program and record away.. (keeping in mind the files will be huge, because they're not compressed in any way).

Generally even the cheap web cameras these days have a microphone built in, if you're looking for one.
