so yeah being a freshman assigned on the last day of registration TOTALLY sucks
the only class that i could get into this morning was chem.. thanks god it was the exact section that i wanted though.
anyway so after talking with my sister.. i decided to put in a comparative literature course called film genre..
has anyone done that before? my sis said it was easy when she took it but ionno.. ratemyprofessor.com says that the prof is pretty hard. so i think i might drop the class
anyway i REALLY wanted to get into stat 220 so i think i'm just going to get an add code the first day of class.


has anyone had econ with silberberg? my sister said she absolutely hated him.
or has anyone done any art history courses??

silberberg SUCKS!!! he is sooo monotoned. o_O... basically he just talks about everything that is in his book... (since he wrote it)... and he sorta goes astray after a while.... iono... but in my opinon it's REALLY hard to focus in his class... if u take his class... i recommend u go to CLUE

i swear like 2/3 of his class was at CLUE studying for the final.... that tells u how effective his teaching is

^I heard bad things about Silleberg and so after the first day, I changed from his class to a History class which is A LOT better. Also, a little help for you underclassmen on not getting the classes you wanted on registration (since I'm a 5th year senior). Never, I mean never use the e-mail route unless you really have to.

This is what you guys should do, on the first day of Winter quarter, go to the first lecture of the classes you want to get into. The prof will then announce if there are people who are trying to get in. Usually they will allow you to sign on a waiting list, they'll just give you an add code right on the spot, or they'll just say keep on attending for the first week because some people will eventually switch to a different class meaning that leaves open spots.

If all options are unavailable, that is a big IF because spots do usually open up within the first ten days of school.

Now for help on taking good classes at UW, COM 201 or COM 202 is good. For an easy A you can do Dinosaurs or Fish (yes, there is a class just on fish), Murder, Sociology of Sports, Psychology 101, but...it depends on your major. If you are a Communications major, I can easily help you out there.

anyway i heard this year's registration was a lot more intensive for sophs and fresh because they had to register on the same day. true/false? i dunno. and once again i didn't get sex&gender in greek lit T.T damn you seniors!!!

I heard for the last freshman registering the registration opened up at 5:40. o_O; So, all those who registered at 5:55 and beyond were screwed. My roommate got NONE of the classes she wanted. She got the boot of it all. x_x;

I'm thankful that I got all the classes I wanted... I think they might be the classes no one else wants. o_O; *sees open spots* Environmental Studies 100, Math 098 (shuddap), Span 103, and Musen 309. Muha. Yeah, I don't know many people who wanted those classes. ._.
