Oh, she's on that thing pretty frequently. I talk to her through google chat while I'm working. tongue.gif

I think she'll respond if you email her now, especially with the new school year coming up. She just finished development with the summer writers (she's finally on vacation until about next week, haha), so I'm not sure if she'll get back to you as quickly, but if she doesn't get back to you, let me know and I'll talk to her!

^I think what happens is that she only chooses a few to really work closely with (meetings, in-person editing, etc). So if you email her while she's already in the development process with some writers, you probably won't hear back from her. Because she does actually hire only a few people, and not everyone who applied. So if you email her in the process of development, it's kind of pointless.

If you do want to write for The Daily, email her again RIGHT NOW for fall quarter development (so you won't get hired until winter, most likely). And if she doesn't respond, then tell me and I'll ask her.
Life is friggin' fantastic.

anyhow, has anyone ever volunteered at the hospitals nearby?
(UWMC, harborview, swedish, etc)... are there any that you guys recommend?
i heard that places like UWMC and harborview have so many volunteers that they won't even notice you. anyway i'm looking for a place to volunteer at but i haven't exactly decided where.

Ah, I see. I'll ask her sometime this week when she's not busy and tell her you're a pre-pharm major looking for a pharmacy type position.

but anyways. I'll be busing to school everyday and my schedule has a whole lot of time gaps thanks to the fig that im taking. And i was wondering, where do you guys usually go to study or get involved? well other than the HUB, library and stuff, is there anywhere else to get involved and meet new people?

Libraries: Odegaard to study, Suzallo to seriously study (less noisy)

I learned of a third on-campus job (that isn't work study) that's looking for people for anyone interested. It's not a typical office job but it's available if you need work and can put in a minimum of 10hr/week.

I still have info for two other non-work study jobs. Just ask me. The sooner you ask, the sooner you can start (applies to all three).

Uh and if anyone's in Physics, there's a $11/hr position listed on Huskyjobs
