I think she'll respond if you email her now, especially with the new school year coming up. She just finished development with the summer writers (she's finally on vacation until about next week, haha), so I'm not sure if she'll get back to you as quickly, but if she doesn't get back to you, let me know and I'll talk to her!

If you do want to write for The Daily, email her again RIGHT NOW for fall quarter development (so you won't get hired until winter, most likely). And if she doesn't respond, then tell me and I'll ask her.

anyhow, has anyone ever volunteered at the hospitals nearby?
(UWMC, harborview, swedish, etc)... are there any that you guys recommend?
i heard that places like UWMC and harborview have so many volunteers that they won't even notice you. anyway i'm looking for a place to volunteer at but i haven't exactly decided where.

I learned of a third on-campus job (that isn't work study) that's looking for people for anyone interested. It's not a typical office job but it's available if you need work and can put in a minimum of 10hr/week.
I still have info for two other non-work study jobs. Just ask me. The sooner you ask, the sooner you can start (applies to all three).
Uh and if anyone's in Physics, there's a $11/hr position listed on Huskyjobs
Student will work on the development of programmable pulse generators for a trapped ion qubit manipulation project. The ideal candidates will have hands-on experience with analog and digital circuits along with a solid background in atomic physics and quantum mechanics
Oh and I found these
Hourly Student Webmaster - 15 to 19.5 hours per week. ($16-18.50/DOE)

Hourly Student Assistants – OSAS - 15hr/wk ($9.00 – 9.50 per hour DOE. )
