I park my car under a tree in the summer and so now there's gunk (possible tree sap??) on my hood. What's the most efficient product to use to "wash" it off??
Anyone run into this problem before?? I tried that Turtle stuff, it didn't seem to help.

Goo Gone if it's adhesive, but if it's tree sap, go to Lowe's or Home Depot and get some Denatured Alcohol, try it diluted 50/50 with water first in spray. If that doesn't work, try full strength. Isopropyl alcohol might work too.

Doesn't denatured alcohol help you pass the smog test especially if you dump it in the tank right before the smog test? I heard this rumor.

I used Bug and Tar remover in a yellow can before and it worked ok. I don't remember the brand name.

^ Bug & Tar remover in the yellow spray can is made by Turtle Wax. Dunno how well it works on actual bugs, normal tar or tree sap... but it's pretty much ineffective on the sticky "tar" used as an adhesive for Dynomat Extreme acoustic dampening sheets.

If denatured alcohol doesn't work, then claybar won't work at all.
