lol, I bet your paint is super thin then. I polish and clay once a day, polishing multiple times a year isn't good for the paint.
I use a wide range of products from different companies, but no OTC stuff. The only things from Meguiar's that I would use is their Wheel Brightener and Finishing Paper.

Why would his paint be thin?
Sorry I am a car detailing freak, and I dont know what he said that would make you think that?
Are you refferring to meguirs cleaner wax? If so that is an abrasive wax material that takes off left on old wax. And if his paint was going thin then his clearcoat must be long gone right?
Meguirs has good products, if you go to practically any car forum you will see that nxt tech wax has a really good rep for being easy to use, apply, and wipe out.
You wash your car everyday and clay bar it too? I would find more harm to you clear coat and wax then him doing his three step process every other week or weekend.
Sorry but I think you either need to explain more clearly cause I dont want your post to mislead other car cleaners.

But claybaring your car helps get a lot of dirt and bumps off. and dont drop your sponges on the ground, picks up dirt and little rocks that will scratch your paint.
tiienchi i use what u use, rain x car wash with carnuba wax beads. it does work pretty good.

Sorry, I meant clearcoat, unless he has a single stage paint, and I wasn't referring to the Meg's Cleaner Wax. Meg's Cleaner Wax isn't an abrasive wax; there's no such thing. It's a mixture of a sealant, some chemical cleaners, and some fillers.
Meguiar's is OKAY, but there are far superior products out there. I don't know what car detailing forums you go to, but all current sealants have the exact same application process as NXT Tech Wax.
lol, regarding the once a day thing, I meant once a year, I must have been high off of Zaino products.
The reason I said his paint must be thin, is because if you polish your car multiple times a year, you are leveling clearcoat or paint for no reason. The only time I would polish is if my car had a crapload of swirls and light scratches or really bad oxidation.
If your car is getting back really bad swirls every few months, you are either washing, drying, or claying the car incorrectly, or you never took out the swirls in the first place.
By polish, I assume you are using a machine and an decent-strength abrasive, such as Poorboy's SSR or Menzerna Intensive Polish.

BUT what REALLY keeps my car looking bling.......... Professional detailing. Yes, I could do it myself but theres nothing like watching your baby get pampered by the best and come out as smooth as a babys butt.
Besides, I no longer have a garage nor do I have time with my work schedule...
