Why can't you be . . . the part of me that's missing?
Instead of leaving me for some other.
Say we're perfect for each other . . .

It seems scary huh? I'm sort of like you, no curfew, own car, parent's don't really control me, but you have to take responsibility sometimes. You can't live under their roof forever now right? If you just take it one step at a time, get use to your dorm, get some friends, learn one chapter at a time, I think you'll do quite well. I knew some slackers that copied off of me in hs (they were my friends though) and I'm really surprised because some maintained a 4.0 their first year.
I think you'll be fine dude!!!

Hey, nothing wrong with Texas A&M. The valedict. at my school chose that school and a lot of other kids.

I'm leaving tomorrow morning, I don't really know if I'll be able to sleep at all tonight. I think a large portion of my fears stem from the fact that I'll be living in the dorms with a roommate. I'm pretty sure it'd be different if I had an apartment where I could have more privacy...and I don't even know this guy that well. Privacy issues aside, I don't know how much I can trust this guy with my stuff in the same room. Did you have these same fears?

Hey, I'm starting school as freshman too, and i've been pretty nervous to start school and everything. But, i've been getting many advice that dont be nervous caz everyone else that are all there are also feeling the same as you. The most important thing is just smile and be yourself. college is a great new experiences~!!! have a good night sleep tonight and good luck to you! =]
How can you be so calm and collected? I'm just nervous that this is going to be like high school v.2.0. ...I'm obviously not going to sleep anytime soon.

It's all about balance.. between studying and partying, attending classes and working, etc. Just try to work on your time management and you'll be fine. You learn a lot of new things, meet new people and I've found that my life has changed (for the better).
I was scared to death about my roommate too. I didn't know what she'd be like at all and I spent weeks wondering what my dorm-life would be like. Needless to say, we're best friends now and familiar with everyone in our hall. As for studying.. just ALWAYS attend classes. I missed out a lot during my first semester and I really screwed up. I learned my lesson for the second semester and did a hecka lot better.
Don't be scared and do your best. Good luck!

Don't sweat about your roomate or worry about whatever limited privacy you might have. Probably the biggest mistake you could make is locking yourself in a one bedroom apartment your first year. Not saying that dorming is always a perfect experience for everybody, but don't knock it till you've tried it.
It's natural to have first-day jitters. College is a lot more than just being able to do what you want and go wherever you want, albeit that's a huge plus. My suggestion for you is to relax and see the coming months as something positive. Look into clubs and organizations you might think of joining. College is a completely different ballgame compared to high school, but nobody is expecting you to transition overnight. Good luck

What you need to do is... breathe, go take a run around the block or two, then sit outside in the freshair.
Think of what you actually like doing or want to do. Then think of how you could make a career out of this. Then think of what kind of major you need inorder to do this. If your still hesitant about majors..... I suggest economics for a start. Its a great all around major in my opinion which helps you learn something about money (you are going to run into this subject sooner or later ) and will help you later on in your life. Minor in a language or so, or music, or art, whatever your heart desires.
Always remember, there are things in life that you WANT to do and things you DONT want to do, but in the end you just have to grit your teeth and do it. Either to make your parents happy, society happy, or in the end make yourself happy. Just do it, Nike.
