I recently started dling music on my new laptop.. and the weird thing is that I can see and type korean on it, but when I try to unzip files that are named in korean or japanese, I get a pop up saying "The Compressed folder is invalid or corrupted."

It's ok when I rename the file in english, but I have way too many files in korean to rename them all.

Since I have windows xp and unzipping files is already part of the system, I even downloaded winzip additionally to work it out. But winzip wouldn't respond at all when I try to unzip files named in korean, only english. Could someone help me out in fixing this? THanks biggrin.gif

I use WinRAR and it generally works pretty good for it. Though my version doesn't allow non-ASCII characters. This should be acceptable as long as you can keep the filename whatever you want. Maybe newer version of WinZip can too. I know WinRAR has just released a new version but I haven't got it yet.

Oopss, just re-read your post. So you have a zip with Korean in the filename? WinRAR handles that as well. It just won't name the folder (WinRAR has the option of putting everything you extract into a folder named the same as the file) properly but everything inside the zip should be OK. Give WinRAR a try and see if it works for you.
