In the May Vibe Magazine it says that Ne-Yo has a Chinese grandfather. Ne-yo said that growing up his dad Wiley would beat his mom like she was a man.

The singer also has a son named Chimere. During a recent interview Ne-Yo revealed the following:

I think all genes are recessive to black ones except like one or two.

There's a lot of quarter Chinese ...him, that other girl you posted, and Tyson Beckford, and it's always their grandfathers.

The Chinese guys from that generation must have really had a thing for black girls. I think there was less racism back then or something. Good to know!
