Problem With Boilsoft Avi-mpeg-asf-wmv Splitter won't open avi files

I use the video splitter from Boilsoft with a registered user/code and everything.
I can cute wmv files, but it won't let me cute AVI files. tears.gif

Whenever I try to open a AVI file with the program, it says:
The format of [insert file's location] can't be recognized!


I don't know why it won't open avi files only. unsure.gif I have all the codes and everything..


Can anyone help? Thanks!
