1) What school did you transfer from?
2) What was your GPA (be honest)?
3) What is your major at UCLA?
4) How many units did you have transferred? State quarter or semester.
5) What courses did you have transferred?
6) Your reasons for transferring to UCLA
7) On a scale of 1-10, 1 being the easiest, how would you rate UCLA's transfer admissions system?
PLEASEEEEEEE try to answer these questions thoroughly and precisely. It will be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much!
(USC transfers are welcome to answer these questions as well. Replace UCLA with USC. Thanks)

2) 3.7
3) Sociology
4) 105 semester units (which is the max they'd accept)
5) GE (for IGETC) + major requirement classes
6) Top 10 school for my major. Berkeley is actually ranked higher, and I think I would fit into its environment more, but it's too far for my liking. I like LA no less, with the only turn-off being its tendency to be more superficial. Oh, another reason for LA is that I can move out, which I feel allows me more growth rather than if I were to stay home (but LA is not so far that I can't run home whenever I want some mama's cooking
7) I've seen some get in with barely a 3.0, while others with a 3.9 or 4.0 got rejected. As you can see, it's hard to say. However, I think more focus is put on whether you have IGETC and fulfill your major requirements (also, TAP or other transfer alliance programs are a huge advantage), while essay + extra curr. activities are a plus.
These two sites were my haven during the transfer process:

Hope I helped!

1) What school did you transfer from?
---a Cali city college
2) What was your GPA (be honest)?
---I think 3.5ish (I don't really remember. sad huh? =_=)
3) What is your major at UCLA?
---English, Classics
4) How many units did you have transferred? State quarter or semester.
---Semester; just over 80 or 90. (sorrrry~~ I have the memory of a fish)
5) What courses did you have transferred?
---GE and major requirements
6) Your reasons for transferring to UCLA
---I only applied to Berkeley and LA, and got accepted into only the latter ^^; BASICALLY it's a good school for my major, I've always wanted to go there...(I suppose lol), and I've lived in LA my entire life so I'd get homesick quickly. =_=*
7) On a scale of 1-10, 1 being the easiest, how would you rate UCLA's transfer admissions system?
---Uhm, honestly, it was easier than I thought. Then again I thought it was like getting into Harvard or something. Regardless, it's different for every major-- for English, the application reviewing board would focus more on my 3 essays (since it shows how well one would write duh~ =p) and my major GPA (which probably applies to everyone). If you just work hard with a heart to get out of a CC asap, you should have a great chance of getting in.
(Sorry if my answers weren't articulate or even helpful! ><)

Palomar
2) What was your GPA (be honest)?
Only about 3.3ish
3) What is your major at UCLA?
Japanese and East Asian Studies
4) How many units did you have transferred? State quarter or semester.
I believe 106.5 units. I was at a semester system.
5) What courses did you have transferred?
IGETC some GE and my Japanese language courses
6) Your reasons for transferring to UCLA
Well I got accepted to UCSD, UCI, Berkeley and UCLA and I figured since Berkeley was too far, the second best choice was UCLA.
7) On a scale of 1-10, 1 being the easiest, how would you rate UCLA's transfer admissions system?
It was honestly really easy, I'd probably give it a 10. If you do all the requirements, you're pretty much a sure shot.
Boo to USC

LOL you guys make it sound so easy.............. *cries in the corner*
If you tranfer from a college to UCLA, it wiil be easy. And one more thing, your accepted chance is much more higher than others when you are a asian kid. UCLA really has good relationships with asian students. Have you guyz known that over 56 % student of UCLA are asians ? Well, asian kid dominates UC system..LOL...And I love it ....
UCLA = University of Caucasian LOST among ASIAN ........True dat.....

They don't accept students cause they're Asian. God you end up with horrible conclusions from stupid statistics.
I got into UCLA transferring but didn't go there.
1) What school did you transfer from?
Fullerton College
2) What was your GPA (be honest)?
2.70ish, 3.07 after Fall semester grade update.
3) What is your major at UCLA?
Political Science
4) How many units did you have transferred? State quarter or semester.
61
5) What courses did you have transferred?
IGETC, and all required Political Science prerequisites
6) Your reasons for transferring to UCLA
I got into CSUF, UCI, UCSD, and UCLA. The school I wanted, Berkeley, rejected me. =[
7) On a scale of 1-10, 1 being the easiest, how would you rate UCLA's transfer admissions system?
Depends on the major. I had many friends who had GPAs of 3.3-4.0 that didn't get in UCLA or Berkeley. I think it relies heavily upon your personal statements too. I think Berkeley looks at grades more while UCLA looks at statements more.
http://collegeconfidential.com is a good site to check for help. There's a transfers forum.
