i was wondering that too. how come she doesn't go on entertainment shows? her album, i think sm is keeping us in anticipation. i was looking around earlier and with super junior sm let them release an album first in 2005 and they didn't release a single till earlier this year. idk with ri in they're doing the opposite. her album should come out some time next year. im not exactly sure when tho.

actually SUJU came out with a single first .... just like most SM artist they came out with a single first and then an album like a month after the release of their first single
but yes i doubt that Riin will be in Song EMG ....... it is very unlikely she will be in the company . . but i guess SM has some connection with a chinese company thats why they are letting their artist debut in china
the reason why Riin doesn't go on those korean show is becoz she isn't comfortable enough to speak korean an go on those show....... you can tell she isn't really use to speaking korean by she thank you speech at MKMF awards she had trouble remembering what to say and yeah alot of korean shows now mainly have male guest
hmm yeah i heard about her going on Music core this week can;t wait
EDIT
hmm i just heard that SM Town will be performing in the end of yeah MBC gayo concert
so hopefully they perform Snow Dream
coz if they are then that means JAng Riin will be at the concert to perfrom with the SM family
yay can't wait

I was reading this thread and see the topic abt her breaking into chinese market, as a fan of taiwanese singers particularly (im new into kpop) i'd like to share my opinion.
First of all, i was impressed with her voice (and she's ONLY 16-17!!) and only with that powerful and nice voice, i believe she can make it, maybe with time but she definitely got the talent. I don't know abt China but she's chinese afterall so ppl will most probably supports her. no ?
After China, the other big market should be the taiwanese one and i really wish she can make it there. I think she can be successful because she got a voice and she has the innocence/shy thing that ppl just cannot hate (lol) add that with nice/well choose songs and it should be enough.
Like idealise said, in Taiwan you have 3 categories, those who compose/write songs and those who only sing but got smth that make them appealing. Even if you dont compose songs, you still can be successful (Jolin, S.H.E,...) and the last category is those from idol drama (Rainie, Fahrenheit, KOne,183Club) well Rainie Yang was in a group before but they werent popular then later she act in this idol drama and now she got 2 albums and good sales. I would put JRI in the 2nd group, she got smth that can make the audience like her.
Finally why i really want her to succeed in the Cpop market, well for the females singer right now its Jolin who is at the top and im sorry to all jolin's fans but she isnt that great, her singing is not that good and she is most known for her dancing (who isnt that good either) and maybe her sexy image on stage. Following Jolin we got the cutie-cutie Rainie Yang with her high-cutie voice...i think it would be great if the young talented Jang Ri In can storm into this list, with training she can be comfortable on stage, she already got the voice and singing and will definitely improve and she is young and cute which attract half of taiwanese audience who like cutie (ie. Rainie Yang). And another thing is her promotion, if ppl get to see her in variety shows that can help a lot. I tend to love some artist more after watching them in variety shows cause you can understand/learn more abt their characters. So im waiting patiently for her chinese debut and will definitely support her.
Oh and i do hope she wont turn into a sexy singer...thats boring too, i just love her shy, innocence image. ^^
sry for writing so much, suddenly got so many things to say. hehe

when's this concert?
the special MBC gayo concert which is held on the 31st of dec
this concert is also to celebrate the new year
so i guess SM town wants to celebrate with the fans
but i dunno if this is true or not
don't want to get my hopes up
all i know for sure is DBSG and Super Junior are attending the event
but the SM town performance i'm not 100% sure if it is happening or not

xibi, I wouldn't really put ZLY with Jolin and S.H.E.? She hasn't really developed her own style yet, and I really don't see her as very charismatic atm. I think the Taiwanese market will be more difficult for her to crack than the mainland China one, because (and no offense meant) I don't think she's very pretty/cute as compared to the inexhaustible Taiwanese stream of "mei mei"s. Her prettiness is a matter of personal opinion, I know, but somehow she doesn't really fit in with what the Taiwanese consider pretty?

I have been followng the C-pop industry, including Mainland China's and I do agree that LiYin will have a tougher time breaking in the Taiwan Music Market. People in Taiwan and China (including HK) have different standards of beauty. To the Taiwanese, someone like Jolin and Hebe are considered beautiful. To the mainland Chinese, Fan Bing Bing is considered beautiful because she's tall, pale, big-eyed, and posesses a very symmetrical face. LiYin doesn't have those qualities, which is why she can't really use "beauty" to try and inch her way into both the Chinese and Taiwanese markets. Maybe LiYin is cute in our eyes, but she's not considered cute to many Taiwanese. Rainie is considered cute, and cuteness all boils down to personality. LiYin doesn't really have that cute personality that Rainie has.
I think it will be difficult for LiYin to break into both the Chinese and Taiwanese markets. Mainland Chinese singers can sing and there are some handful ones that do sing R&B, for examples Chengyi, Cici Wang, and Jane Zhang. I was reading some comments from the equivalence of Chinese youtube about LiYin's performances in Hainan, and many of them complained that they couldn't understand her Chinese, which is why she didn't really impress them. I think LiYin still needs to brush up on her Chinese before debuting, otherwise there's no point of singing in Chinese if the audience can't understand what you're singing about.

i agree w/ everyone that she will be sucessful in china. but at the same time, i think it'll depend on how SM promote her, and there are also so many factors that could affect Ri In's debut in China. for instance, if SuJu and Ri In debuted at the same time, i think more attraction will be given to SuJu. when u see 13 hot boys..12 korean 1 chinese, as girls, u just can't help but fell in love with them. so i think SM will let SuJu debut first half of the year, and Ri In second half. but doesn't SuJu has a new korean album out soon? therefore it might not work out....plus i think some chinese girls will envy Ri In for her fame, sucess, being in korean music industry, in SM. i mean what more could u ask for? i mean if this is the case, is just messed up! i hate it when ppl don't hear the complete story and jump to conclusions. and i trully think Ri In will focus more to Mainland Chinese, rather than Taiwan. and from my personal experince, i think these two markets are completely different. for one thing, we have different accent. it sound really different, at least to my ears.
anyway...if she is appearing on dec. 31, it would be sooo cool. is live, or is it recorded? cuz i know in japan, there is the music show, and musicians celebrate new years together. and same w/ china but is on chinese new year. i can't wait when she sings her part in Snow Dream. is so powerful..u know is her!!
EDIT
i just read Bethany's comment, and i agree. it will be really hard for her to go in to CPOP. just look at how many groups and singers there are already. anyway, i didn't know ppl are hard time understanding. for me...i think is just the way she speak. the southern accent, not the main accent. if u are chinese, i think u know what i am talking about.

AH!! Yes!!! Hopefully it's true!! I really really wanna hear Y live in Korean!!

Welcome to Jang Ri In's thread!! Anyway, I can't agree with you more. Jolin is very famous and I hear of no one else but her from my Chinese friends. I actually like Rainie Yang's and ... er ... I forgot her name, but it was something Hsu .. I think. AH! Why can't I remember her name!! >.< I'm pretty sure it's not Elva Hsiao .. OOh!! I remember now! It's Evonne Hsu! I really liker her voice too. =D Anyway, yeah .. I don't want her to get exposed to the whole sex-appeal thing.
I think it will be difficult for LiYin to break into both the Chinese and Taiwanese markets. If she does happen to be able to crack into the Chinese market, than that proves her talent all the more. True .. Chinese beauty differs from the Korean one, at least it seems so to me o.O .. Jang Ri In's beauty is kinda like a one-sided thing .. if that makes sense. To me .. her shy and cute personality and especially her voice extends her beauty. She may not be as good looking as Hyori or Song Hye Gyo or Kim Tae Hee .. she may even be considered average to some .. but to me .. she's really pretty. Bleh .. I don't even know what I'm saying anymore.
anyways, zhang li yin is an excellent singer and if she practice more in singing live then she can become a perfect singer! I love her voice and Im really looking up to this girl! Its ok to look up to a girl whos at the same age as one right?! ~_^
Welcome to Jang Ri In's thread!! Gah! So happy! More and more people are coming into this thread!! =D Lol .. I found that whole "I'm only 4 cm longer" very funny.

I finally read LiYin's interview from Cool Magazine, and here are some of the things she mentioned:
She idolizes Jay Chou
Admires Boa's success and hardwork
Appreciates Xiah for his musical talent and for helping her (she didn't elaborate on what he helped her with...)
She admits that she still needs to polish her vocal skills
She says SM trained her in hip-hop, popping, and body-locking dances and Chinese Martial Arts (I wonder why?)
She says that she's closest with her roomates, HanKyung, and that her relationship with Xiah is not bad
She says that her parents were opposing her from pursuing in this type of entertainment business, but later they are her biggest supporters...and that they still live in China
She reveals that she loves to eat some kind of Pork Meat (I'm not sure what kind of specialty b/c my Chinese is not that great)
And to her fans in China, she says that she will work very hard to deliver good music when she debuts in China
And to all of her fans: she says that she does read messages posted by fans and are grateful that she has fans not only in Korea and China, but other countries as well
Also, she knows about her fansite, called Chocolate (I think when she said she reads messages left for her, she meant she reads them from the Chocolate fansite.)
Okay, everyone have a nice Christmas!!! Off listening to Heaven----

but sorry if you haven;t been listening to Chinese music lately then yeah alot of people don't know that Main land china singers are alot different from Hong Kong ( who mostly are there to look good)
alot chinese singers now are really talented and to make it big in china you have to a really great voice and to have charisma on stage. and right now Jang Riin has the voice but her stage presence isn't good enough for the Chinese audience. But yeah if you guys listen to some of the contestant and see some performances from super girls then you would know that many of them can really sing well and their stage presence are wow good those girls can really make the audiences go WOW. But i think that Riin has a big chance to be able to make it big in China because she will be singing R&B song and right now in china there arn;t much R&B singers and also i guess coz she kinda has that K-pop vibe about her and right now there is that whole big Korean wave thing going on.
But yeah i just have to say that they need to practice how she presents herself on stage coz right now i think she is kinda of stiff when she sings live like she doesn't show enough emotion and to some people when they watch her performance they may find it boring.
but yeah What SM doing right now is smart. they let her perform in korea first so she gets use to the stage and sinigng live and then go debut in china.
i really agree with this. I don;t think jang riin will fit into these categories. but then again, i can't really imagine her sucess in the Chinese market as big as BoA is in the Japan market. but i hope she will prove me wrong ,I'm hoping SM will make her really raelly famous in KOrea first. i dont want china to let jang riin down =/ and i mean like make her feel bad, if anything happens there, like someone saaid before, boa wasn't a sudden hit in Japan when she first launched her careeer there.
sry for writing so much, suddenly got so many things to say. hehe
hehehe yeah =D
hehehe i for one am REALLY REALLY jealous of Jang Riin... everytimme i listen to her songs, i'm like DAMN >:o =/ But then I love her<3 lol
hehe its okay i noe what ur saying !

Explicitj0yee, Super Girls is a Chinese "American Idol"-type singing competition. Go to Youtube and type in China Super Girls, and you'll probably get something.
dankyung, no, that's not the Super Girls (who still remain a rumour, at any rate). That's just a bunch of general SM trainees, of which ZLY was a part before she debuted. The picture was taken from the annual SM showcase, which is when SM gets its trainees to perform for a bunch of record executives and stuff.
