finally finished reading everyone's post about yesterdays performance. gosh...took me sometimes because i was also reading SuJu's forum. lol okay so..her new look, don't like it at all. i think it's the bangs that gives off the "older" image, and of course..the makeup. but i do like her hair in black. not sure why though

then there is the lipsyncing performace. anyone could tell she was nervous so when i read @ "korea music" section about how korean fans are complaining that only ri in lipsynced, and not junsu, i wasn't too happy because i thought junsu lipsynced too. is just that he has done it before, and like someone said, he was fully enjoying himeself, so have i not read u guys comment first, i would have thought he was singing live too. ppl really have high expectation of her. and if ri in was really sick, and seem like she is, it gives more reason why lipsyncing on this performance was the right choice. yes..lipsyncing is not right, but if her voice is really sore, and she can't rich those high notes, then maybe it wasn't an bad idea. i am starting to think that all this was last minute decision. because if this was planned, i think ri in would have been more prepared, and not so obvious i really hope she isn't sick too, but so many are ppl are these days, that i wouldn't be surprised she is one of them.

true many ppl in SM are getting sick these days as well as other singers. First it was DBSK, then some of Super Junior are sick, and I wouldn't be suprised if Ri In is sick as well. But I hope not. I noticied in the clip that she felt really bad for lipsynching. She was so uncomfortable with it. I don't think this was her choice more like SM told her too. But her being sick would explain why she didn't go the arirang one. She did look a bit sick though in all the pics. Her nose was really red and her eyes were all teary.

its just that junsu is really good at doing those ... he's done it too many times.. lol
he didn't look like he's lip syncing at first but there's just something that gives it off..
i know he's good at singing live but it was too perfect.. a tad bit too perfect... and clean

yeah happytime that topic really annoyed me too. especially when i read that part about them saying riin lipsynched but Junsu sung live??!! argh, how annoying.

I bet she would be nervous to lip sync the first time! And of course Junsu would have more practice doing it than her. If she really is sick then I guess its okay if she lipsync the song since theres no point to strain her voice for that small version she did of timeless. She looked much older with her new hair cut and I didn't really like it because I thought her curly hair fit her a lot more. I thought she looked really good in that outfit thought but I really hope they play it up with her outfits next year!

Thanks for all the links! I watched her perform Y and I thought it was okay but it seem like she was out of breathe. I still really like that song! I really did notice that she had more confidence when she was singing!

she'll learn how lipsynch somehow (boy, i somehow feel bad about that)....just like when dbsk was starting out too...

^Junsu lipsynched too, right? He looked like he didn't, but he sounded like he did. If he sang live, usually, you'd hear an echo or something like that and it's pretty obvious when a singer sings live.

Edit -- My gosh! I feel so stupid! Junsu was singing live! O.O Damn! He is one hell of a singer to be able to sound EXACTLY like the recording!

No, Junsu did lipsync. You can actually tell because it doesn't sound like how he usually performs this song live. When he sings this song live you can usually hear him breathing, but in this clip you can't.

But, oh well, we all know that Junsu is a great live singer anyways. As for LiYin, yeah she will get more bashings because of it.

awww..she didn't attend the arirang to have one last timeless performance..which i've been totally anticipating. But junsu sang Beautiful thing instead...still wonderful! But i hope she isn't sick...get well tho, if you are sick Riin!!

hmm...is it just me or does Jangriin seem to be very skinny and tiny sometimes...but other times just big. It's weird..maybe just her clothes. Like in the Lysynched performance...she doesn't look so tiny as in other instances. maybe the haircut add along to it too.

Btw...omg, the girl lipsynched once...i think people should leave her alone..aand yeah Junsu babe...he's an expert singer...and even though they were lipsynching....he sings regardless...and it looks very believable. hOwever...his voice is totally gorgeous anyway. the point is that she's amazing regardless...she looks very cold. Poor her. And she looks extremely uncomfortable, if not guilty, which is really cute. Zhang li yin..hwaiting!

Her "Y" performance...pretty decent. some of the higher parts she struggled with...but overall i enjoyed the performance. For once..she was solo...but she still did great!

ri in did look sick in previous pictures. and i definitely agree that people shouldn't overreact... she just lipsynced once... i know fans were upset, but all these huge bands do it all the time and she just did it once. i'm sure she or sm had a good reason for wanting her to lip sync because she has sang live in all her other previous perforances and it would be weird to just have her lipsync now for no reason. and not that this really matters, but i don't think her bangs flatter her face very well, but the color is nice (: anyways, i hope ri in isn't bashed too much for her lipsyncing because honestly, she has a great voice and can go very far with it. happy new year btw !

I really get this impression people are so hard on her. what? was she given really high expectations before she debuted? was there so much hype built around her before she debuted? I must admit I still don't know many things about this girl. but, from the moment I saw her - rather, hear her sing, I developed a soft spot for her.

I'm quite angry at SM at the moment. I hope they're aware of what people have been saying; they should do something about it because their artists are the one receiving the lashes.

just got to know from suju thread that hankyung said that they, as in suju, didn't sleep for 3 days just to practice and rehearse for the performance... maybe riin had lots of practice and rehersals too, in addition to the weather, making her feel unwell. who knows.

it's really annoying ppl are always criticizing her. so what if she lipsync? how come SM artists are always criticized for lipsynching like with suju?

ppl should be a little nicer and not demand so much from ri in. we know that SM set how huge expectations for her by promoting her as the "chinese boa". but however we should forget this title all together. its really unfair to compare her with BoA or any artists with one another. we should all remember that ri in is ri in not anyone else. she has high expectations for herself too and we all saw this by the uncomfortable and guilty look she had on her face while she was lipsynching.

another thing why is that ppl have such expectations for her? SM hyped her up of course but that's just to get our attention. ri in is still young and she has a lot of potential. she's still relatively new. she's only released one single so far. the ones who are criticizing her need to give her more time to gain experience. im pretty sure in a year or by the time she releases her album/holds her first concert she'll wow us with her performances.

wow 3 days without sleep to practice and perform? they're so dedicated. im thinking that she probably did the same. i can actually see her staying up to the wee hours practicing to make sure she nailed this performance. poor ri in. she never gets a break from the critics. if she's sick, then i'm sad.

oh god ppl are starting to piss me off with this. the whole comparing artists thing. it upset me so much that i forgot to say HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

i understand that as a newbie in the kpop scene u get treated really unfair since u get compared with all the big names. everyone should keep in mind that all the big names like shinhwa, dbsk, kangta, and the list goes on all had a time when they were a newcomer. they weren't great at first but over time they got better and became the big stars that they are today. anyways we should drop this whole topic since all it's going to do is piss us off even more.

2006 is over as well as the timeless era. *tears tears* guess we'll have to wait for her first concert to see another timeless performance. *sniff sniff* i can't believe it's over.

2007 is going to be a big year for ri in. huge year actually. she probably has tons of things planned for us in this new year. another single or two and then eventually her album will come out. by then she'll have prove to everyone that she has all the abilities to become a top Asian singer.

ahh i remember a couple pgs back someone was talking about how that sun min girl (i think that's how u spell her name) released a new single in japan recently and she has a totally completely different look from her first single. hmm i wonder if sm will do that same thing. i doubt it since ri in doesn't look like she's 100% ready to do a dance song. i have no doubt that she will wow us whenever she releases a dance number. after all SM wouldn't have hyped up her dancing skills so much just to let us down.

i think the reason why ppl are being harder on riin for lipsynching for this particular perf is coz she's not moving at all, she has no excuse (well to them, since they dont know she's sick or whatever). She's just standing there with nothing to distract her and seems like she's just lipsynching for no reason. I think if ppl knew she was sick they woudl understand, its really unfair to jang ri in that she gets bashed for this.

and anyway im 95% positive after listening to the perf again that junsu lipsynched as well, i dunno whats wrong with the hearing of the fans in the translated post that's posted int he korean celeb forum. And it's even worse coz ppl are gonna believe that now (even tho its just an opinion from a fan ) and think badly of jang ri in. Maybe we should like, repeat in every page in huge letters that she was sick haha coz i dont think ppl are gonna backtrack to where ppl said she was sick. Im seeing ppl posting in page 7 that they dunno y she lipsynched when i already sed she's sick back in page 5 or something...

junsu definitely lipsync. his lives are great but not that perfect. it's true u usually hear him breathing when he singing lives. i was rewatching timeless performances the other day while i was waiting for new xman to come on. he's just been doing this longer than ri in has so he's more use to it.

someone should seriously start posting pics of her during the performances in that thread then maybe ppl will understand that she was sick. god its happening again, i was in the dbsk forum the other day and someone posted up this site that had a forum where people were capping on them. it was just awful. i get that everyone has a right to their own opinion but we simply just can't hate a band or a singer for what his/her/their label tells them to do.

that whole thread i was in there early they're really harsh against the SM artists. i have no clue why. my guess would be they were let down when BoA didn't come like MBC and SM said she would. anyways if u think about it MBC didn't give them very much time to perform. Of course DBSK was going to get to do a full performance, they won 4 daesangs in 2006 after all. and then it would be super junior with the second longest performance cause they too nab up some good awards. MBC gave them around 10 minutes (i think) and how many ppl are in SM these days? Over like 30 ppls.

Her dancing? No one knows for sure. Only SM can answer you on that one. SM has really hyped up her dancing though. There has to be a reason for it. They wouldn't have wasted so much training on her if they weren't gonna show it off. I doubt that SM would lie about this cause sooner or later they're gonna have to prove that ri in can dance the way they claim she can.

Yah same here. I didn't mind that they lipsync it either. It was just simply too short and kinda plain. Since it was an end of the year festival thing, they should have come up with something creative. Like let other members of SM act out something funny or a scene while Ri In and Junsu sang. either that or put the two closer together.
