yeah in thailand most of their No.! songs are actually international song so it is quit easy to be known and get into Thailand charts coz they have international thing

but it is no surprise to me that Jang Riin didn't make it into top 100 in china
you guys don't know how hard it is for an artist to get in the Top 100 chart and that wide range of artist there are in the chinese market ............ China is a big country iwth and Big population and alot of singers that actually know how to sing ........ plus the only people who would actually know jang Riin in china are the poeple who listen and are into K-pop and that isn't alot of chinese people ..... Jang Riin isn't actually that known in china actually there maybe a few articles on her but thats about it and since she hasn't done any promotion in china . then of course she wouldn't be in the top 100 ....... also i think she only started to gain more fans in china when she performed in Hainan ........ so yeah

the Jang Zhang Vs Jang Riin thing is wooo but this is what i got to say i love both artist and i know alot of you think Jang Riin and surpass Jane Zhang ..... well it me when they both sing live right now Jane Zhang bests JAng Riin sing live vocal wise and her stage presence is also better ............. you guys should listen to the song Jane Zhang sang for the theme of return of the condor heros it is amazingly good and how vocal and high notes are done amazingly well

Ok i backtracked about a pg today. I think Ri In is really safe with SM behind her. They know what they're doing and how to promote her. Btw I wouldn't trust Ri In under any other labels. Just my opinion but see all the other labels don't give off this close family tie thing and they don't advertise or promote as well as SM does. This is just my opinion once again.

Regards on Ri In entering Chinese markets, I doubt it will happen in the earlier parts of 2007. I think it will happen later once SM exposes Ri In more to the Korean markets and releases more stuff from her. With the Chinese markets, SM is trying to promote Super Junior as well as Ri In over there. So I'm pretty sure they'll make it so that Super Junior will help Ri In. Same with BoA helping out DBSK in Japanese markets.

The dance thing LOL most talked about item in this thread besides the ri in pairing. I think that either they'll showcase her dance sometime this year whether it's with a Korean single or when she hits Chinese markets. But I'm pretty sure she will wow the Chinese markets. SM hyped up her dancing skills and all they have to do now is prove it. From what I've heard, she dances better than most of the Chinese artists out there. No offense to anyone.

Hmm yah I heard that she said that she would focus more on R&B too but with the whole Chinese markets. She said something I don't remember correctly but it was about how she wanted to produce more R&B songs for Chinese markets and stuff.

Haha I can't picture Ri In in short skirts and all the stuff that they wear in those upbeat songs either. However I doubt that SM would waste their time and money to train her in dance and not show it off. Btw they have few female singers that dance. From my count it's like two BoA and CJSH the Grace. Well I'm guessing there's more but those are the more popular ones. SM has the best dancers in my opinion and Lee Soo Man would want to show Ri In off after all she is the leader of the new 3rd Korean wave, right.

Yeah I think the dancing aspect of Jang Ri In is what's going to make her better than that Jane Zhang girl... And when i watched Jane Zhang's perf she seemed more...i dunno how to describe but not appealing to modern audiences? Like she sung all these old songs and sure she sung them really well but compared to RiIn's R&B style I think that's more appealing to teenagers and more likely to sell more CD's. Plus if Riin can really dance really well that that's another factor that is way more appealing than jane Zhang I reckon... she seems to be the type that appeals more to the mature, older audiences...

^ Ri In's dancing skills will set her apart from all other Chinese singers. As we all know, SM has great dancers. Once they officially debut her dancing talents, she will probably shock Chinese markets with this and her R&B voice. She will set an even higher dance expectation for those Chinese female singers. I only know a few Chinese female singers who can really bust a move. Like Jolin Tsai well she's Taiwanese but her singing voice isn't that impressive.

First time posting here, although I've been following this thread for a while now. I just want to add something about the Jane vs Riin Zhang discussion. From what I know of the Chinese entertainment, it would be extremely difficult for Riin to surpass Jane. because
1. Jane already has a very, very strong fanbase that started all the way in 2005 with all the Supergirls craze. She's probably the most well respected supergirl to date.
2. Jane displays a very wide range of vocals, and she sings very well in English.
3. Jane sang theme songs for popular series, the Return of the Condor Heroes, and the oscar hopeful movie, the Banquet (although personally i don't think so)
4. Age-wise, Chinese people tends to favor the older artist, but it also gives Riin a long time to develope her career.

I'm not trying to discourage Riin's career in China or anything because I think she has a lot of soul in her voice, which is what the Chinese music industry lacks right now. She has a great future, not only because the Chinese music industry is still premature, but also because she's really talented. I'm basically familiarizing you guys with the situation in China, note, not Taiwan, which the list posted above mainly consists of TW artists.

I personally think Riin's voice is more similiar with BiBi and Shang Wen Jie from the same competition. They both have that deep, soulful voice that marks them special.

and to answer a question above, no, Supergirls is not under SM. SM is not that powerful yet. Supergirls is a show that was started by some Chinese company in 2004. It's an entirely mainland-based artist group.

^I don't know .. I've listened to many of Jane's lives as well as some recorded .. and I must say .. I like Ri In a lot better .. of course I'd say that cause I'm a big fan .. but that's not the only reason. I don't really like how she sings .. like she'd sing some part and then there'd be a slight pause or something like that. For example .. when she sings My All .. it'd came out as "I give my-ah all." Gah .. don't know how to explain it .. but it's kinda like cutting off a word before you can fully pronounce it. I'm not saying that that's what she did at that exact part .. but I'm just trying to explain what I mean. This may seem offensive .. but it's just my opninion. I think Jane has a really powerful voice and her lives are better than Ri In's, but I think Ri In has the ability to surpass her in lives in the near future.

I really think that she will come out with a dance song. Though she said she'd focus more on R&B, I'm pretty sure she'll release at least one dance song .. or at least sing a ballad that's dance-able.

I'm not gonna judge how she's gonna be like in China just on her not making it to the top 100. For now .. I'm just gonna think that she'd do great in China.

The dance song is bound to happen sooner or later. It's just a matter of time. Yah even though she said she would focus on R&B, she will dance sooner or later. After all, besides being interested in singing she likes to dance, too. I'm just quoting stuff or summarizing stuff from her profile on SM.

To me, Ri In is the singer with the most expression. Every time she performed Timeless and the recent Y(Why...) performance, I was sucked into the expressions on her face. She actually made me feel sad and it touch my heart. Her voice has a lot of soul too. She really captured the soul, mood, and message of all the songs she sang so far.

lol. I'm not that big of a Jane fan myself, but from my experience in Chinese forums, i can tell that she's probably the most esteemed, sought out for mainland female artist as of right now. Personally, I'm more of a Bibi/Shang Wen Jie person.

her pitches were everywhere.. not even the same orignal song anymore and she couldnt hit the high notes either. msot of her performances are better than ri-in's but her range isnt as wide as jang ri-in's... jang ri in just has to learn howto control her voice.. because she has one helk of a powerful voice.
