Anyway Riin is really being less promoted now...why does she just perform Y on music core now and not on sbs as well?? She's performing even less than when she debuted...i really hope SM isnt losing faith in her or something... she already has a lot of fans, this is their chance to increase that yet they're not doing anything...

LOL yah I can see that MC Yoo is a such a troublemaker sometimes. If they still had the couple selection, I'm pretty sure most of the guys would try to couple up with her since she's so cute. I can already picture it. Someone should tell the ppl who ran Xman to add the couple selection back in!
Yah it's weird. She's supposed to be SM big weapon to conquer Chinese markets as well as Korean markets yet they're not promoting her as much now. So far for Y it's only been 2 performances on Music Core. I hope she goes on SBS Inkigayo soon.
I hope SM isn't losing faith in Ri In. I think she has the potential to meet all their expectations with a little more time! She still young and has an amazing voice that will conquer Asia.

Oh there definitely is. As a Chinese person, I think she'd do well in mainland China. But some people may be slightly turned off by the fact that she's pretty young (17 right? or 16?) and her style of singing is quite mature for her age. Keep in mind that a lot of singers in mainland China close to her age choose the over-sweetened cute image instead because it's really popular with the consumers.

because the truth is the cutie-pie image is the 'in' thing in Taiwan and that a lot of singers do a lot of acting to add to their fame
(which i don't think ri in can because she will be too busy?)
but well, there have always been exceptions to the cutie-pie kind of image or the really 'cute' songs like Fish Leong and Stefanie Sun
who have been well-liked by the Taiwanese..
Both of them have a really special style and have really special songs (if you compare them to the others like Rainie Yang)
i hope that Ri In can achieve like what Stefanie Sun (someone that i'm really proud of because she's Singaporean) did when she first came out, and after that, everyone here will have the chance to be really proud of her..
i would love to see Ri In being more contemporary pop rather than the cutie-pie image and still take over the music scene =)
Though i've always felt that for the Taiwanese market, they prefer female entertainers, not really female singers/composers.
That's why you do see talented men like Jay Chou and Wang Li Hom being really big but the talented female songwriters/singers are always neglected.
no offence to any Taiwanese here because i think i've been generalising? just my two cents' worth yeah..
As for China, i'm not too sure of the entertainment industry there (could be different from the Taiwanese one but i do know that it's
under some of the influences from the Taiwanese market eg. Jay Chou's immense popularity everywhere) but LSM should have some plans for the future.
i mean, if he can call her the Chinese BoA, he has to ensure that her standards are really there (not that she has to be exactly like BoA but she has to be around the same level)
but i hope she can really achieve something special (i wouldn't want to see her disappointed or something)
i think it's because she gives off this 'little sister' aura and i feel like wanting the best for her..haha. =)
(i feel so old now)

Probably HK and the Mainland. I'm not too sure if she's going to market in Taiwan, I think it'll be a bit difficult for her.
LiYin has been very inactive apart from her singing on Music Core. Maybe LSM is losing faith in her. He's probably focusing on someone else...there is another Chinese trainee under SM. I really hope that SM can get LiYin active again, otherwise she really is going to lose a lot of fans, and doesn't it make sense to promote her more to get her ready for her debut in China? They need to create more hype to catch the Chinese media attention. I don't want LiYin to go to China and not be able to do well in the market, she would feel really disappointed since that's one of her biggest dreams, which is to have a concert there someday.

cause i mean after all that hype before she debuted...
all of it dropped down when she started performing live..
i really hope they'll do a magazine interview or something just to promote her ... i mean explain things about her vocals not being ready yet and stuff.. >< sm would normally explain things about their artists in articles... but with ri in like i only read one magazine where she was featured in .. -.-
man .. i really wanna create a chaos on the sm town message board .. like how the chinese yumi fans did.. so sm would notice us too .. lol .. ^^ does anyone know sm's message board though?

Anyway, I'm not too familiar with the singers in China, but from the little knowledge that I have I think that the majority of the singers there have vocals, seriously good ones. Having heard Ri In, I know that the vocal part won't affect her, but I'm not sure about the style of singers the people perfer.
As for Hong Kong, I know the music industry so well, it's like the back of my hand. lol, yes all due to my many years of being a fangirl of the mainstream music -- and that's the point, mainstream. In Hong Kong, it's basically all about mainstream artistes, good looking people and average singing. So I don't know how well Ri In will do there. She's cute, but definitely not what I would say beautiful. Not meaning to generalize, but seeing the people that are so popular in Hong Kong at the moment, I'm tempted to say that it's all about looks to survive there. Of course there's a few minor exceptions. With new singers like Janice and Vincy, that have good vocals and are semi popular, it seems to me the industry just might be heading in a different direction in the next ten years to come. So if the public is willing to accept talent over the physical appeal, the chances of Ri In being the next tin hau in Hong Kong is seemingly high. Now it'd be great if she can speak cantonese. xD
Ok, onto Taiwan... erm personally, I listen more to the male singers. Jolin, Rainie Yang, Stephaine Sun, A Mei, and etc. really don't catch my interest. I don't know why though, since they can sing and dance... but yeah it seems that the Taiwan music industry is more on Jay Chou and male singers in general
//Edit
Aish. Sorry, don't have any new pics to share.

oh really? there's another chinese trainee?? do you know about him/her? (lol sorry this is so off topic but i'm curious)
Riin and this other trainee probably are good buds eh? since they're both chinese and all. it's good she has some other fellow chinese people so she won't be too too homesick/lonely.
this thing about Riin not being promoted very much is very frustrating!! i mean, if SM's going to build such a hype pre-debut, they should make her actual debut, now, a BAM! and follow through with it.
sorry for the rant.

And for the Taiwan/Hong Kong debut, I have a good feeling Ri In would make a success debut there. But I can't say that right now if SM is planning to send her over right now, Because she still needs to get rid of her stage fright first. Personally, I don't really know anything about Chinese music industry, But I know that they look out for looks more than talent. No offence, But I'd like to be honest as myself as a fan, Ri In isn't the typical apealing style of looks people in Taiwan/Hong Kong would like, However, I think her singing abilities might rise her popularity in Taiwan/Hong Kong. No offence to this either, But I don't find many Chinese female singers talented or gorgeous. So it doesn't really make sence to me what they mean they go for looks or talent. I'm not saying all Chinese people sucks at singing and are ugly. I find some Chinese people really pretty, gorgeous, beautiful, and talented at singing and dancing. But most of the famous singers in China doesn't apeal me much with their music or talent. Ri In was the first singer from China I've called 'true talent' for.

Kind of off topic, but not really. Does anyone remember how Blackbeat and Heonjin(sp?) and other "less popular" SM artists debuted? since no offence to fans of them, but they're pretty much ditched by SM... I really don't want ZLY to end up the same way, but maybe we can guess how ZLY is going to be marketed when we look at some of SM's "failures"?
On a happier note, i think ZLY will be popular in Mainland! Personally her style of singing attracts some of the older crowd rather than the teen-boppers. Her voice is really rich in emotion and power, and it's kind of hard to describe, but my dad's a sing(not professional, but a BIG hobby of his) and he was talking about how ZLY's voice is trained really well/developed really well(in the recorded songs i let him listen to) compared to some of the current chinese singers, who haven't been trained properly, since it the voice gets stuck in the throat. Basically ZLY lets her voice "out" properly, which hardly/none of the younger singers can do nowadays compared to the older singers of the older generations. And i think SM's plan is to introduce Suju and ZLY into the chinese market around the same time, which will probably help them get the older market (ZLY) and younger market (Suju). >.> that's a long rant... ZLY Jia You! I personally believe SM won't just let her fade away like this because it seems like they are really planning to take over asia starting this year, with BoA back in Korea, DBSK in Japan and ZLY and Suju in China.

i admit their talent and looks and everything but i bet LSM has a secret that makes artists idols...
there are artists that are popular but SM makes idolized, god-like artists...
hm... i wonder if zhang li yin will become like that... like boa... artist of the WORLD

i think lee soo man advertises and promotes then like crazy. i also think looks play a big role in sm entertainment.
an artist who is good looking makes the viewers go wow along with talent, and they want to find out more about the artist then it it branches/grows from there.
zhang li yin can get there, she has the looks and the talent. even if lee soo man doesn't promote her much (he better start!). her fans would be like wth and things like that. right now, im wth'ing on why zhang li yin isn't getting promoted much more now.

As for the China Market, I think she'll do great after she has conquered her fears. I don't know the Chinese Market too well, but she'll do good in there as long as she has established herself in Korea. I know this actress turned singer and she can't sing but she is being welcomed as a singer and people like her. So as long as Jang Ri In has established herself in Korea, she'll do fine in China.
