I also don't think Jolin is that much of a good dancer as well as singer. Of course she's better than most people in Taiwan and China for that matter, but her skills are a little rusty. I don't know .. I don't see much power to her moves. Anyway, hopefully SM would choose to give her a dance song to debut with in Taiwan. If she's going to debut, she needs to showcase everything she's got on her first stage appearance to give a good impression on the audience.
Thanks mandi_ for the translation. Lol .. I totally don't know what the article said. All I can understand is SBS popular song.

the thing is in Tw there is no such show as SBS inkingayo or MBC music core where she can make her first live performance, there is this G-Music show where some artist that are on the chart come and perform but there is no audience so actually in tw most live performance are perform during autograph session and mostly are in the street (which is good cause passer-by can unintentionally listen to it) then get interested.
So hope SM will give her a catchy song that can show off her singing ability and dancing skills and put all of this in a great MV (cause the MV is the first thing ppl tend to watch after listening to the song)

They have interviews with people, and then a small performance for them on the show but that's it.
I'm thinking SM is just totally focusing her on singing her notes right, so it's mostly R&B right now.
I'm sure that once she's perfect though, they'll let her do a wider variety of things.
But don't get me wrong, I can't wait to see her dance either.
I'm sure she's good, with all the hype saying she is. (:

On the other hand, i think i have an explanation to Ri In's chinese accent. She's from SiChuan right? well, Si Chuan Dialect/ Accent is really strong, and unless she speaks a ton of "pu tong hua" or the standard dialect of chinese, her chinese will still be tinged with her dialect accent. SiChuan has one of the strongest dialect/accents (ko ying) which i think is why her chinese sounds funny at times.
I don't think her "accent' will hinder her in debuting in china/taiwan though. Most chinese speaking people are very tolerant towards accents since there's so many different accents within the chinese language itself that most chinese speakers are able to understand very well even with a slight accent like Ri In's. Just like how most of us can understand English with an american/british/scottish/irish/australian accent it's the same way with chinese.
O___O i want more of Ri In! I hope SM starts heavily promoting her soon cuz she's just too cute to keep hidden!

I really don't think she's actually debuting in Taiwan. It seems so random...SM's been talking about China the entire time...Hm. Well wherever Ri In debuts, I hope she does really well. I wish SM would just confirm something rather than let us all guess ><

i believe she has the potential but it's quite sad that none of her performances are "great" or even good so far
because of the scratchy parts
but i believe she'll overcome it !!
but u noe wat's cool? that she didn't start off as the perfect artist... so when she perfects it, it'll be more of an achievement
jang ri in hwaiting!

so i'm pretty sure she's working on it and it'll be better for her debut in china =D

yeah taiwan don't have formal Music shows like korean does every week
the only time week get to see taiwan artist perform their songs are either on those variety shows they appear on .... at fan signing meeting or yeah at street shows or concerts
but i think it is weird how she is debuting in taiwan i have a feeling she isn't debuting in taiwan but instead in china .... coz it weird that SM would focus on such a small market like taiwan i think that the only reason she is signed to Avex taiwan is becoz they released the taiwan version of timeless for her
And about the dancing well yeah there aren't many good female Taiwanese singers that can dance i think only elva who is coming back into the music industry knows how to dance and yeah jolin is okay at dancing
but we don't know jang Riin's ability to dance yet so yeah i have nothing to say about it yet .
Aboit her acent yeah it very strong and can be hard to understand when she sings but i watched her interview in chinese the other day and i find that when she talks in mandarin the accent isn't as strong ....... but yeah SM is still helping her correct her accent so it is more understandable for some people

If someone feels that they have never made a mistake in their life, then it means they have never tried a new thing in their life

i nvr really heard of china singers entering the taiwan market vice versa.
sth to do with politics is it? =X
I think the china market will suit her more.
Usually the artistes only perform on vareity shows which cuts their perf into half.

She was born and raised in Sichuan, China. I think LSM wanted her to debut in Taiwan first because it's really difficult for a new artist to debut and get noticed by fans in China. China is just too big and not that many people in China are into R&B, but rather pop.

Ri In has few accents in Korean as well. She goes all skippy when she says her name and super fast when she talks, So I couldn't really understand her much. I am fluent in Korean, But I have accents when I speak it. Because I moved to America when I was 5 from Korea, I forgot Korean (I didn't even know how to read/write), So I re-learned it by myself. I think that is why I have this accent, Same goes for Ri In, She learned it and not borned speaking it. Everyone starts with accent after learning. And in fact, It isn't really a problem for Koreans to see forgieners having accent in Korean, It's understandable. I don't know about her Madarin though, I'm not Chinese so I can't really judge her about that. But I don't think it's a big problem if her country was supposed to have heavy accents while speaking. =x

Huh? There is an "r" in Chinese. Well, at least I've been speaking some Chinese with words that do have r's. Example: ru guo (if).
Yeah, her Korean is not too bad.

haha her accent will be fine!! apparently jolin has a REALLY bad accent,, and shes taiwanese!!
but i dont think there is anyone like Jang Ri In in taiwan. her voice is amazing.. her singing is amazing.. JANG RIIN UNNIE IS AMAZING!! im sure everyone there will fall in love with her!!
her newest 'Y' performance was really good i think. i think its her best live perf yet.. even though apparently she lipsynced one line.
