i googled it just now and found out that it's a fantasy book series

is it suppose to be famous? i kind of remember hearing about "the golden compass" tho
hmm i hope it's interesting

I read this book in the 6th grade. It was pretty interesting! I bet they're gonna need a lot of animals in this movie. Or maybe they can use animated ones. Can't wait!

Ooh, I can't wait for this! I love the trilogy <3. Now I wonder what the actress who plays Lyra looks like. HDM stands for His Dark Materials.

i dont really like the casting of daniel craig as lord asriel, although paul bettany seems to be a odd choice i'd rather see him in the role than daniel craig.

HOLY CRAP! I've been waiting for this since I read the books two years ago. I remember IMDB saying something about it being done this year but so many disruptions came about. Definitely something I really want to see. I love Lyra and Will <3

haaa. i saw something about His Dark Materials being made into a movie...sadly, I must say the first thing I had to say about it was "ooooooooooooh no they don't. not HDM!!!!! >________<!!!!"

i just seriously dislike book to movies....hahaha. so far the only really good one i've ever liked is Lord of the Rings...they went ALL OUT. on that one.

but i stray from the main topic =P

Maan. I haven't read/touched this series since 6th grade, when I first read it. I'm hesitant to watch it...haha. Funny thing is, just a few days ago I went to the library and borrowed the golden compass again(totally forgot about this whole movie thing) cuz i was like "hm...maybe i should reread it" HEHE. But i feel like there might be issues with the whole daemon thing and whatnot....how real are they gonna make the CGI?

the way i see it, if it isn't gonna be PG-13, then it's not gonna be worth watching.....

haha, but man, i gotta reread =P

Oh man, I loved The Golden Compass, now that I think of it, even though I read it in the 7th grade and it was considered a 'childrens book', it was quite dark and intense. Especially in the last two books, but I'm excited about the movie coming out! Although I haven't met too many people who have even heard of these books.

Well, Phillip Pullman said that when he was actually writing about Ms. Coulter, he imagined that it was Nicole Kidman.

omo~~ i didnt know that they were filming the first book of my favorite series of all time!? philip pullman is a genius and the golden compass is phenomenal.

I looooved these books. I remember I read them back when Pullman was still publishing the 2nd and 3rd part of the trilogy. If they really can make it to film, it'd be a lot of work since there's so many things involved. I need to go read the books again to refresh my memory.

OMGOMOMGOMG I've been dreamingggggg of this!! The series is just so fascinating and I love the books to bits! I cried at the ending... God, it was so sad the way it happened! I wonder how they're going to make the daemons change from one animal to another... and those soul sucker things in that one town. I can't wait. happy.gif
