I have a religion but I'm not religious.
As my sch is a christain sch, there's chapel every wed and daily devotions. Sometimes I persuaded by what the bible says, but most of the time I just treat it as a piece of literature that survive for million of years.
I don't base my thoughts on the bible beliefs.

I think that the media has a greater influence on young people than religions nowadays.

Obviously. The media's everywhere... whatever some kid wears, talks, tries to do is influenced by the media, since just everyone's doing it therefore meaning that it's "cool". There's violence, sex, drugs, etc. that a lot of kids have gone into b/c they were influenced by the media or someone who was. Religion isn't that strong these days. If someone tries to talk to someone else about religion, they'd automatically go away. There's only a few hours of religious shows on Sundays compared to the hundreds on other channels.

- i think that the media has more influence on young peopels lives these days, because its everywere.T.V;bilbords.you really cant control what kids watch nowadays. the channles on cable like MTV are mostly tageted of teens and people in their early 20's. nowadays i see younger kids watchign and acting like what they saw on a music video. Another thing is that religon isnt as strong as it used to be. times are changing and so are people.

like others said... media is everywhere? it does depend on the person though. but people i know seem to

It really depends on the upbringing of the individual. Some parents instill a much more strict discipline revolving around religion than others. But the media can really shape someone's mind and way of thinking if there isn't any parental influence to guide them otherwise.

I'd day media has a bigger influence on young people. I think that kids these days are concerned with what's "cool" and/or "in" rather than who they are and what's more important to them. They're surrounded by it, media is anywhere and everywhere that they look.

Yes i do think the media is a bigger influence than religion, because mostly people watch the media hear the media than go to church pr practice there religious rights. Some times they even change there religion as a young person becaused they were influenced by other things in the media. Im not saying that the media is bad and all. But the media is like...mm.. has a bigger impact on chilrens lifes to what they become in the future and with religious things too. So you see i hear and see on the news that people do these things thats against there religion but they dont know it and they have like a symbol of there religion on them while there doing something thats not in there religion. So today many people dont really practice there religion. I dont really know if the media has anything to do with it personally but some what it does. I hope that made sence >.<

The media is probably a more bigger influence because there are more people that spend more time to go out and watch movies or stay home and watch television rather than read the bible. An example would be when after watching the "Da Vinci Code", people kept having doubts.. were interested on reading the book.. etc. It depends on the people though whether they choose to believe what the media says or not.
