Yeah my title is not exactly what i mean. I mean can i take the sat just so i can know where i am? I don't really get all teh different tests liek PSAT and everything, i haven't took them so far...? Where can i take it? I just want to know my score but i don't want the college board to know it when i apply with my real sats.

Was that confusing? Sorry, i don't get this either.

if you want to see what score you're gonna get.. you can go and take a real test... just choose not to send it in to any colleges... go to collegeboard.com for more info...

or you can just buy a study book and do one of the practice tests... are you a freshman?

Yeah, I did that in the 7th grade for the Duke Talent Program. The SAT is not fun, though, it's unbelievably stressfull.

Cause the sat book i have doesn't show you how to calculate your score. Mine gives a bunch of practice tests and answers.

Take it for fun? Lol, if your idea of fun is taking a test for about 4 hours, then go for it.

Otherwise, you can take it for practice =] BUT, in your situation, since you want to know where your standings would be, I say just buy the Collegeboard SAT book and take a couple of practice tests while timing yourself.

I'm thinking about taking it this year. Still a Junior, I guess that really isn't considered too early.

you cannot just take the SAT for fun without it appearing on your permanent Collegeboard scorebook if you are in high school. You don't have to report any scores if you don't want to go to college, but if you plan on going to a school who takes the SAT, you can't take it without it showing up.

For TIPS and other programs, middle school and under students may take it without it being recorded permanently.

I don't get how you can just choose NOT to send it because the score will go along with your other scores when you do send your scores in when you need to.

You can always take an SAT prep class and they administer tests to see if you improve during the class.

The colleges you apply to will find out regardless of when you take it. When you send scores to schools, CollegeBoard sends ALL the tests you've taken; you can't exclude any.
