I thought I needed a new look to welcome the new school year. It's actually a first time trying out a dark desktop theme, I usually use bright colors to brighten up my computer. It helps on days when I feel like poop. But the dark colors are really relaxing for my eyes.

and maybe like a yearly calender reminder. about the yearly calender thing, it's like a program
that lets you input birthday and stuff, and every year it would remind you.
someone i don't see very often told me about it, and i'd like to know such thing!

I'm sure not if this is the one you like. For the calender I use Rainlender. Just google it and click on their site. If you want it to remind you about birthday and stuff yearly then after you add the event and stuff, don't set anything in the occurrence tab and just press ok, since you tagged the event as a birthday they'll ask you whether you want to make this a yearly thing or not and all you have to do is click yes. Simple and easy. There are also a lot of sites our there that have skins for you to download too.

I'll list out the other programs I use to customize my desktop.

01. windowblind (you don't have to buy it if you don't want, there are free trials but once the free trail end all you have to do then is uninstall the trail and delete everything that has to do with it in your computer system. Then re-download the trail and re-install it, it'll work. But the free trail version won't let you change the color of the skin. This program let you change the taskbar and stuff.)

02. iconpackager (just like windowblind. this program let you change the computer system icons and all in just one click or two. It takes too long to do it by hand so this program really come in handy.)

03. I use yahoo widget to get the clock/date and weather on my desktop. (you can get this on yahoo for free)

04. Avedesk (you know how some people have really big desktop icons? you can do it with this program. there are already option in the computer that let you make icons bigger but that will also make all the other icons on your computer bigger, like the ones in the start menu, with this program it only make the desktop icon bigger. It's a widget so while using this you can hide or get rid of the other icons on your desktop.)

That's pretty much all I can remember right now. xD If you want to download themes/skin for the programs, you can google it and they'll come with a list of sites that let you download for free. Hope this helps.

05. Objectdock (I almost forgot about this. xD This program let you have that MAC look to windows. You know how MAC has those glossy icons that people usually put on the button, like instead of having all those icons on the desktop they use objectdock and just delete those icons. Some people also hide their taskbar while using it because with the dock it's like a taskbar too. I don't even know if I'm making sense, but for more information google it.
