but it makes my comp really slow when it starts up. so now i dont even use it anymore.

For avedesk it depends on HOW you config your desklets. If you use them as simple shortcuts w/names, it's fine. But if you get into something like having it list how many files / size / etc. of each shortcut, that's where the strain comes in in terms of slowing your pc down.

Personally I went for the simplified look and not caring much for how much xx of wtvr I have.
