ATTENTION This probably seems desperate, but if you've seen the movie and you like it please give it a good rating, some people are really hating on this movie (dont ask me why..) so I was just wondering if you guys would give it good ratings? thanx (only 2 sites, or you can only do one)

Plot Summary:
In 1929 an impoverished nine-year-old named Chiyo from a fishing village is sold to a geisha house in Kyoto's Gion district and subjected to cruel treatment from the owners and the head geisha Hatsumomo. Her stunning beauty attracts the vindictive jealousy of Hatsumomo, until she is rescued by and taken under the wing of Hatsumomo's bitter rival, Mameha. Under Mameha's mentorship, Chiyo becomes the geisha named Sayuri, trained in all the artistic and social skills a geisha must master in order to survive in her society. As a renowned geisha she enters a society of wealth, privilege, and political intrigue. As World War II looms Japan and the geisha's world are forever changed by the onslaught of history.

IMO the English isn't very.. good and clear, from the trailer I saw before at least. I always thought it'd be funny if it released in theaters here with English subtitles =_=

Nobu's not as bad looking as described in the book. He just seems like an average dude.

Definitely going to watch it. Chronical of Narnia is out on the same day, so hard to choose. Man may have to result in sneaking around, hehee.

I read the book and I thought Sayuri would be prettier. I dunno, Zhang Zi Yi seems soo bony and so sickly looking in those pictures.

^ Agreed. I thought of Sayuri as prettier and cuter too...and less skinny. I'm liking the grey contacts though ^^

Even though I don't like Zhang Zi Yi, I still wanna watch this movie BAD.

ziyi doesn't match the blue contacts..but it seems interestingly enough...

though it would be hard to watch the film..knowing the majority of the actors and actresses are chinese... but they're all good..so it'll make up for it..i hope~

I still can't get over the fact that Zhang Ziyi is going to play Sayuri! I mean fine, she's pretty but she doesn't have that innocent look or damsel in distress look that is pretty much described in the book.....I hate to say this but Zhang Ziyi looks a bit cold....it would be hard for me to symphatize with the character
Why can't they pick that actress who played oppossite Tom Cruise in Last Samurai...that one was pretty

PS: but in fairness the poster was so AMAZING! the nicest photoshopped poster I've ever seen and that's not being sarcastic....

Loved the book, looking forward to the movie. I'm going to do my best to go in without expectations from the book. That'll be hard, but as long as it's an enjoyable watch, I'll have no qualms if it diverges from the book.
