j/w does this car have potential? cause i havent see much modded ones out there. or is it just a luxury daily driver?

edit:
what if i asked what would be better between the evo 8-9 and g35....there sort of different class cars with a very similar if not the same prce tag. well wha would you think be better overall as a car to some what have fun with, take chicks around? id lean towards g35 but evo seems more fun right? plus it has alot more potential...just the unrealiablility issue with mitsu motors... and i think some chicks find the evo ugly ;/ while g35 is that hott car..

there are a couple people here who have had/currently own twin turbo g35's.

So it has potential because a company was able to swap the engine with a different one?

I see.

Go to turbonetics website. I think they have kits for the g35 and 350z. Just a place to start if you want to mod, and go read the forums, dont really know of any since I dont like g35's.

Every car has potential, just depends of how much you want to spend.

i currently own an APS twin turbo g35 6 speed. currently running 400 rwhp on a built block... crappy, but it gets the job done.

however, like any car project, it is a money pit. in the future, i will have the actuators replaced with a retune which should churn out 500 rwhp... which is borderline away from streetable... just the way i like it. smile.gif

like the z, it has lots of potential. and a 1000 rwhp street car is worthless.

FYI, I wasn't saying it doesn't have potential, just saying that the logic about the VQ45 G35 made no sense.

I think of it as a sexy sports car. The only mod's I would consider are.... intake, exhaust, rims, tires, and redo the suspension (my friend has one, imo its madddd bumpy for a luxury ride). Then I would get tint and a system. Maybe some interior light work and done. Girls LOVE the G35. Imo its played, sooooo many rich kids have this car. If your getting this car to pick up girls. Two thumbs up!

Please no fart cannon for exhausts. I will call u in for public disturbance.

True that to the last part biggrin.gif . I think the G35 coupe is loud enough with its stock exhaust(and already sounds nice too)

Agreed

I think any car has potential if you put the effort into bringing it where you desire it to be... It's all about devotion.

twin turbo ftw.

But i would just work on the suspension and get some good wheels. (the good parts, dont use crappy parts on such a nice car). If you are into performance, get some wide rims. Itll help a lot since you will most likely go the FI route in the future since everyone knows.... turbo/SC > NA; especially on a G35

also... people mod civics and cavaliers. i dont see why it would be pointless to mod a G35

also the g can already run mid 13s stock and the hks intakes adds an estimated 10 extra hp and the exhausts add like 8 so yeah it should shove off about 1.5 to 2 sec off my times

responds well to mods, and can be modded in many different ways to raise the power.

Well if you were to mod the G35 to improve it's performance I'd pick a different car. And the G35 is a hot car, it's got like the best engine sound in the low revs! Haven't heard it in the higher revs yet.
