ok. i know. a lot of people here are in college so i just wanted to ask.

will it benefit you a LOTTTTT later on when you apply to colleges if you play an instrument?? like if you're in the band.

im asking bc my parents and everyone else have been nagging me and torturing me to take band again and saying how all the asians at my school are either in orchestra or band.

and i would like to take it too.

if it's something that's REALLY good for me, then i want to take it again but if it's not, i dont want to waste my hs years taking something that wont even benefit me.

if you're in regular band, then wouldnt colleges not be impressed that much?

and would colleges not like it if i took it for only three years of hs??

and also could someone tell me what colleges are exactly looking for?? i have an idea but i dont really have any hard solid facts. :]
thanks.

sorryyyy. soooo many questions. ><

Well, if you're expecting to major in something like engineering or some science, you'd best be proficient in playing a Texas Instrument.

It's best to take what YOU want to take. Who's going to school; you or your parents? Who's taking the classes; you or your parents? Who's going to college; you or your parents. You have to do what best for you and keep not worrying about what other Asians are doing. Yes, most Asians take band or orch but you don't and that's what makes you stand out amongst your peers.

Also, every college is different so no one can tell you exactly what colleges are looking for. Keep your GPA above 3.0, do extracurriculars, join clubs, be active, volunteer, be a good student, and don't get in trouble and you'll have college letters pouring in.
