I just changed from a term school to a semester school and I am really dazed about my whole schedule. At my old term school I had to take the same 8 courses all throughout the year with 6 periods each day.
However at this new semester school I am going to it is really confusing.
First of all here are the courses I have signed up for.
-AP Calc
-AP Chem
-AP Bio
-Int. Business
-Economics
-Philosophy
-English
-World History
So for my first semester I will have in my schedule Ap Calc, Ap Chem, Ap Bio, Economics, and World history. The Ap courses (they only have science and calc) take up both semesters so I will also take them during second year.
Then my second semester I have the three AP courses and Int. Business, Philo, and English.
They didn't actually give me my schedule cause I didn't pay the registration fee yet but it seemed as if my lunch was during the last period of day 1 and for day 2 I don't even have a lunch at all...
Can anyone explain to me the logistics of a semester school cause I am feeling really anxious right now since I don't get my schedule till the start of school. And also is my schedule considered challenging for schools like Stanford and Cornell? This new school only offers APs in the three sciences and calc but I will also be preparing for the AP euro test in may. What I am worried about is that only taking 8 courses is not enough for a semester school?

hi.
our school has what we call semester terming. do you mean half year semesters?
let me think here, i guess there is a disadvantage in semester running, but its how you percieve the disadvantage i guess (ie: "I didn't learn enough"). you're pretty lucky your ap classes are yearlong.
cuz in our school, ap classes are a half year long (january to june), and you have to take the non-ap class b4 u take the ap class. so consider yourself pretty lucky (ie: more time to study for ap exam)
