you can download the client off here:
http://nateonweb.nate.com/help/guide_download_main.html

you can register here:
http://helpdesk.nate.com/faq/exMemberInfo....egist_index.jsp

if you already have a nate account...you dont need to register.
if you know ample amount of korean...shouldnt be too hard to figure out the install.

how can foreigners sign up? you need either a korean social security number or an alien registration card, there's a little button for "외국인" but you need a number >.< eesh.

I'd love to know that, too.
Somewhere I read that you can login to Nateon if you have a Cyworld account (which I do), but it always gives me an error message when I try to log in with either the email address I use to also log in to Cyworld or the actual Cyworld email address I created,,,

Anybody who can help? smile.gif

If you have a Cyworld account, use the same e-mail and password to log in. The first few times I tried it, it didn't work. So I visited Nate On's official site and downloaded the English version of the program they have. Ever since I did that, all the Korean versions work for me. I still stick to the English version though, despite the fact that the version is 3.7 and not 4.0. The reason being that it is easier to understand everything without having to memorize how to change your settings, read your conversations history, check what you have been sharing with your friends, etc.

I'm not sure about those who don't have Cyworld there. My best advice is to see if they provide a registration form for foreigners. I don't know too much about Nate On except for the program and since I only have my Cyworld friends on my list, I don't see what's really good about Nate On. It is just like MSN Messenger.

If you have Cyworld just login with the same email/password. Worked the first time i did it. If you don't have an email with the providers in the drop down list choose the very last option "직접 입력" which allows you to add your own like gmail.com.

I tried even with my ARC to do the sign up for foreigners, but i keep getting the message that the "Server is currently busy, please try again later." So it basically doesn't work. BUT, i have a Cyworld so i can use NateOn just fine. biggrin.gif

Oh they also have NateOn for Mac OS X

hi um i have a question
is there an english nateon that works with Vista? bc i was using nateon 3.7 up until like 10mins ago..cuz it wouldn't let me check my messages :/
so, i'll be downloading the korean one. but, the weird thing is when i download it in korean i see weird symbols on my install manager/shield or w/e instead of hangul. it's seriously just like ?? marks or weird symbols instead of hangul..and hangul is installed on my comp ohmy.gif
does anyone know why my install manager/shield won't show the hangul when the program is being installed on my comp?
like..it saved nate on under c/program files/ ³×ÀÌÆ® ÁÖ¼Òâ °Ë»ö
