And perhaps if I buy the silver edition, I could use it throughout college as well??

i have the ti 84 plus.. and honestly.. i think the only difference is that the silver has a bit more memory.. and that's about it... all the functions are the same and all the programs are the same too.. although one of them may come with something that the other doesn't have but that doesn't mean you can't just transfer it onto your cal... plus the ti 84 plus should be cheaper than the silver... so you'll save a few bucks for something that's pracitcally the same...
thanks thanks~!

Also, do not think about getting the TI-86. That thing is sooooo gay and confusing.

Get the 89
Oh wait...exams huh...I'm not sure if they allow 89's on exams lol~ so maybe just get the 84 plus o.o;;
And like yangster said, don't get the 86 cuz it sucks

I used my ex's TI-89 during high school (I made him use his 83 plus hahahaha I'm evil). Loved it. I prefer it over all the 83/84/86/plus's. Things are much more straight forward, it's much easier to solve algebraic/calculus equations, and the design is prettier (yes, I know, the design is like the most minor point, but it matters to me!). So...

Ya, most major exams, for/in high school anyways, won't let you use the TI-89. I don't know if they are going to change it but when I took the Calculus exam last year, it stated that I cannot use a TI-89.
