my younger brother, whos now going to be a freshman in a public high school, plans on attempting to transfer to a boarding school sophomore year...(aiming for the lawrenceville school in NJ)

however, i haven't taken the SSATs becuase i had no intention of attending a boarding school, and my brother is going to take a practice one today without any clue about what it is or how his score will end up..(he only knows that it is similar to the SATS, except supposedly easier..) so that the academy where he's going to be taking prep classes can analyze how well he'll be prepared for it, when they think he'll be able to take it, and which sections he's having trouble in...

he asked me for help, but i had nothing for him so..

questions:
1. much easier than the SATS? similar in difficulty?
2. easy enough for a decent student to have a 90+ percentile in only 2-3 months?
3. anyone have any ideas or info on the lawrenceville admissions requirements/preference in applicants?
4. just any advice in general...

my parents and i are planning to tour and visit boarding schools' websites and such...but id like an early opinion from others...

oh and i guess so you guys can have an idea of what kind of student my brother is..
he's had straight A's until 8th grade year..where the science teacher is extremely difficult..9 A's out of 90 on the report cards (10 percent of the grade?) to be exact..he got a B, B, B-, B on the four marking periods..

i know he's a smart kid, but so far, i think his focus on education has only been at 50 percent..but i think he's pretty serious about this...

and any other boarding school tips/advice/info would be welcome..
hoping for some good replies..thx
Too lazy to make another sig. Ill get to it..maybe.
