Just curious.... Because I love their phones so much! XD

Basically......no.

But, watch what Helio releases. Even though there plans seems expensive for now. They will still be releasing new Korean phones here in the U.S.

REALLY?!?! OMGAH! how much did you buy the fone for, and where did you buy it?? theres this anycall celphone in my chinatown (philly) for 275$ and its unlocked, works overseas and can be used with tmobile and cingular. would it be worth it? because i read some comments in this one thread whereas people said the fones would be crippled o.o

If the phone you get/decide to get supports an SIM card, then it should work fine. smile.gif

Chinese phones are easy to hook up in U.S.A. because all you have to do is get an unlocked phone and pop in your sim card from T-mobile or Cingular but Korean phones are another story dry.gif

USA uses GSM while Korea uses CDMA band so the only way to use Korean phones here would be through Verizon. Sprint also uses cdma but for some reason won't work with other phones I heard.

All Samsung and LG phones you can get with GSM so it should be very hard to just order one online unlocked and just sltick in you sim card.

are you talking about GSM cell phones?
many phones these days support GSM.
but as far as i know, only cingular and tmobile supports the GSM network, but verizon uses CDMA.

so if you plan to buy a GSM phone, you can only use cingular or tmobile.
there are a large variety of GSM phones, like sony ericsson, nokia, etc.
here is a good reference site:

My cousin ordered me a phone from China and it works perfectly fine here. As shinhwasan said, it just has to be unlocked.

SEE! That's the thing! Everyone is like saying that I need to get into Cingular/T-mobile or something. but like you just said that Verizon uses CDMA and I'm with verizon but i don't wanna change....... Like I wanna get a Korean phone but there's no Korean provoders here o_______o

yea and unless you go to like a korean store that sells the phones, they might be kinda ehhh if you're not korean. and some of the phones features may not work, or function differently. and if you do get caught with a korean phone on verizon, i think may get fined. maybe you can either change to helio, or wait until your contract is done and buy an unlocked phone, there's quite a number of choices =DD
