But, watch what Helio releases. Even though there plans seems expensive for now. They will still be releasing new Korean phones here in the U.S.

All Samsung and LG phones you can get with GSM so it should be very hard to just order one online unlocked and just sltick in you sim card.

many phones these days support GSM.
but as far as i know, only cingular and tmobile supports the GSM network, but verizon uses CDMA.
so if you plan to buy a GSM phone, you can only use cingular or tmobile.
there are a large variety of GSM phones, like sony ericsson, nokia, etc.
here is a good reference site:

Chinese phones are easy to hook up in U.S.A. because all you have to do is get an unlocked phone and pop in your sim card from T-mobile or Cingular but Korean phones are another story
My cousin ordered me a phone from China and it works perfectly fine here. As shinhwasan said, it just has to be unlocked.

USA uses GSM while Korea uses CDMA band so the only way to use Korean phones here would be through Verizon. Sprint also uses cdma but for some reason won't work with other phones I heard.
All Samsung and LG phones you can get with GSM so it should be very hard to just order one online unlocked and just sltick in you sim card.
SEE! That's the thing! Everyone is like saying that I need to get into Cingular/T-mobile or something. but like you just said that Verizon uses CDMA and I'm with verizon but i don't wanna change....... Like I wanna get a Korean phone but there's no Korean provoders here o_______o
