Please use proper english and punctuation. I really cannot understand what you just wrote.

So you endorsed your check, but just didn't write your account number? It's fine then. You don't have to write your account number, from my understanding. People write that as a safeguard, and it is a good practice, but it's not essential.

that should be fine, at least when i go deposit money into the bank via ATM, that's all the envelope asks for. They should be able to track it down on their computers because of your name and if there's something wrong, they'll call. Go check your bank account and see if the money deposited.

That should be fine. It might take a little while before it goes through, but call your bank if it doesn't show up on the monthly account records or anything. When I first started depositing checks from Soompiers in the selling/trading section I didn't know you had to endorse it on the back with your account #; they still went through though =D At least you know better next time!

i don't see why you're being so rude to his comment. he was just stating that it was hard to understand your question. even with that he still got the gist of what you were asking about so he made an attempt to answer your question. i don't see why you're saying that he hasn't been helpful. he was the first one to give you a direct answer and a correct one at that. to tell you the truth it is kind of hard to understand you when you type the way you do. even with your last sentence, i could give you a whole revision just to show you how a coherent sentence should look like. no one is telling you that you need to have perfect punctuation and all of that but your grammar and spelling is just a little hard to read. it makes readers take a double take. i still don't understand why people type like they are three year olds. seriously do you actually say "dats" when you're speaking to people? if you do then wow... that must be annoying for your friends.

but ANYWAYS, tontamoo is right. it is not necessary for you to write down your account number on the envelope. banks don't even need you to write down the account number but you can do it as a security precaution just in case something happens. bank of america doesn't even have anything for you to write on the envelope. you just put your checks/cash in the envelope and deposit.

Actually, I believe Bank of America does "require" you to put your account number on the back of the checks where you endorse them. I might be going out on a limb in saying this though, considering I always write my account number on the back of my checks even when I cash them at the teller.

It says that on the envelopes for me too though. It says we have to write our account number on the back of the check.

Why couldn't you just type like that in the first place? Believe it or not, but it makes you look smarter if you type the right way. There was no reason to be rude like that...Hmm...I forgot what you were asking in the first place. Oh well. smile.gif

Yes it goes through. I never put my account number and the money gets through. But I do recommend that you put your account number though.

ok i'm not going to go into extreme detail as to what i do. but i don't know what state you live in but i live in massachusetts and we get checks from a lot of other states. hardly anyone ever writes their account numbers on the back of their checks but some people do (like you) i'm the person the checks to see if you added everything up correctly because you know when people have those brain fart moments where they go 25 + 15 = 30 so yea we check on that stuff. we also encode account numbers. you don't need to write the account number of the back of the check because bank of america has a database of all the customers it has. for the deposit slip if the account number isn't clear on the deposit slip then there's a department that goes and looks up your name and address and all that good stuff but anyways they can track down your account number so that the check is deposited into the right account. yea i don't know if you want to know the whole process of what happens when you deposit checks and stuff but yea ...
