i remember i went to eat dimsum with my friends once at a more high end dim sum place so we werent expecting bad service. the meal went alright, we felt a little ignored by the people with the carts so it took a while to get any food on the table so we werent going to give them a littles less tip than they should have gotten. but it got really bad when my friend ordered take out. they gave her what was suppossed to be her order and she was looking through the bag to make sure it was all there and these 3 waiters were talking near our table [none of us knew what they were saying cuz most of us were korean, the only person who could speak chinese spoke cantonese and they were talking mandarin] and i guess they thought they got the order wrong, which is fine but while my friend was still looking through the bag of food, they grabbed it and took it away from her without even asking. we left zero tip after that and never went back there again. my friend didnt even end up getting all of her take out food. she went to come other place to order it.

another time at a DIFFERENT dim sum place [i just dont have luck with these palces lol] the service was OK until the lady asked us what drinks we wanted and we just said we wanted water. she sort of scoffs at us and leaves. TEN minutes later we get out water and she slams the cups down so hard all this water splashes out. and she leaves. it then takes another TWENTY minutes for any cart to come around with anything. once we started eating we finished our water but then it took forever and a day to get anyones attention that we wanted more water. when we finished eating my friend and i decided to leave the biggest mess we could leave for them to clean up after the crappy service. so after a lot of soy sauce and chili sauce we left a few pennies in tip and left. lOL the only nice lady was this cute woman who remembered we wanted cha siu bao so she came to us IMMEDIATLEY after she got them haha but other than that just no ><

so any bad experiences with u guys?

Ugh, that sucks.

I went to Chili's one time and there was NOBODY in the restaurant, but they made us wait like 15 minutes. After that, we ordered and got the food pretty slowly even though it shouldn't have taken long at all. There were like 10 workers there and they were all talking.. and they NEVER checked to see if things were okay.

We kept trying to get their attention because one of us needed something, but they never came over. I was so pissed.

I remember once when I went to bellagio with my family; we went to the buffet, and we got like the snobbiest waiter ever. I mean he was all nice to us in the beginning, but after 30 minutes of eating, I guess he thought we stayed there too long. I mean, I can understand if we sat there for 2 hours without getting any food, but only half an hour? My dad asked him for coffee, and he totally ignored us. Only when my uncle ordered a bottle of wine, the guy started paying attention to us again. Pshhh.

the crappiest restaurants my friends and i went was some steak house

there was a bunch of us and we gave our orders of drinks, but the tiny waiter came in with all of our drinks. after putting several of our drinks down...i guess he stumbled a little and spill one of our drinks on my friend's shirt. needless to say, the guy lefted to clean up himself and lefted without an apology. our friends called the manager to tell how the guy spilled a drink on her without saying sorry. so the manager made the guy say sorry. later (i think he did this on purpose for getting him in trouble) we waited about an hour for our food, and when our food finally came. the guy slammed our food down on the table and gave us this disgusting look. we all thought that guy probably spit or did something to the food...so we didnt touch it. then we informed the manager about our waiter's nasty service and food.
so the nice manager apologize...but we still have to paid the bill dry.gif
but we left no tips and later we had ice cream in ben & jerry's

we had a super dumb waiter or whatever the heck she was. so my aunt called the chinese buffet place to reserve two large tables and the worker made my aunt repeat the SAME things 3 times (she kept asking the same questions , its either shes partly deaf or shes just stupid) and then she said "hold on" and then gave the phone to ANOTHER worker and the other worker asked the same thing -____-;; so after we finish eating the same woman comes (my aunt remembers her scratchy & manly voice) and she goes "okay so you have ___seniors and _____adults and 4 kids" and my aunt was like "no..those two are below 1 yrs old so theres only 2 kids." and the woman goes "No theres ____seniors, ______adults and 4 kids." and my aunt goes "Theres TWO kids because 2 are BABIES and it says below 1 yrs old is free" and then my aunt wrote out all the people and also added the total and she gave it to the woman expecting she would check it but the woman said "No i have to add, count it and write it down myself" so my aunt ignored her and then it took her like 20 minutes to count everyone and add the total. Afterwards she gave the reciept to my aunt and the total was wrong -_x and they started to argue and blah blah blah and my aunt and my uncle had to WRITE OUT EVERYTHING for her ...and she told my uncle to "calm down" in a very rude way (in cantonese) and my uncle got all fired up ahaha

the person that left a mess on the table on purpose, i hope someone spits in your food on purpose. thats messed up. when restaurants get busy, they have mess ups. i understand about crappy service, but imagine this. they deal with bunch a dipshiet customers every day that leave them no to little tip, so i can imagine them being anal all day since most of their income comes from tips and they probably make a bit less than minimum wage to minimum wage. i bet most of you never worked in a restaurant. but in some cases, some people dont even belong in a restaurant cause they are too stupid to make an order on the computer.
so tip well, it will all come back to you if decide to eat there again. and dont leave a mess either on purpose, or they might taint your food just to get even.

one time, my family and i went to eat at Dynasty ( a dim sum place @ san jose ). we ordered porridge, xiu mai, and a lot of other stuff, because we ate iwth a big family.

so my sister was telling the waiter all the things we wanted, and she was just standing there rolling her eyes because we wanted like for example:

i would like abalone porridge with no scallions or blah blah

and everytime my sister would add an order, she wrote so hard on her paper, it almost went through.
when we were done, she rolled her eyes and was talking with some other people that was there

we finished our food, and put tip WITH the check thing

and they RAN after us and was all "why you no leave tip?"
and my sister got SOOOO mad, she was like: "WE DID LEAVE TIP, IT WAS IN OUR BILL. READ THE RECIEPT *cussing at the lady*"
then the lady was all "ohh ohh, uuhh, sorry sorryy ha?"
we still came back to eat there though smile.gif its good food.

I HATE when that happens

I mean, it's bottemless so I expect alot. sleep.gif

Seriously!?!? My sister and her friends have this thing where they try to eat as many baskets of fries as they can at Red Robins. Last time, they even told the waitress and she was like, "okay, I'll help you!" Their record is 10, hahaha. Go to the Northgate Mall Red Robins! o_O;"

when i went to have a bowl of pho all by myself

i wanted to sit by the big tables, and the waiters told me to move to the individual table.

i didn't want to, but i still obeyed them.

the waiter threw the menu @ me and walked away

i left no tip.

i remember me and my friend went to a hip sushi place. its one of those places in east village and with a DJ. like we walked in, and the manager/hotess gave us the worst table in the place (it was a little corner next to some kind of machine) and we got a busboy for a waiter. he didnt noe ANYTHING! like we wanted to know what kind of drink they served and he had to grab this guy to help us. and the drinks we ordered, we ordered light on the alcohol but it was like they poured a whole cup of vodka in them!! wells, later we found out that our "waiter" wasnt even a "busboy" he is the head sushi chef at the place and because one of the waiters suddenly had a family emergency and left, he had to fill in to be a "waiter" LMAO. but he was such a nice guy!!! we forgive him...

My family went to Red Lobster for my mother's birthday a couple years ago....our waiter took our drink orders and didn't come back until 20 minutes later. I mean....two soft drinks, tea and a beer. Come on, man.
He took our food orders and I think he forgot. We got his attention for a drink refill. Never got it, but we finally got out food almost an hour later! We reminded him about the drink, and he never came back, so my dad snagged the arm of some other waiter for that refill. We didn't dare ask for refills on the basket of biscuits. Eesh.
After it all, my dad took him aside and asked him if there was some problem, like....if maybe he was new and just adjusting to the job, being busy and all. He said he'd been doing that job for over two years already. O.O; So my dad was like, "You better work on your service. You did a pretty poor job tonight, and it was my wife's birthday." We left him a dollar tip. HA.
Man, I felt so bad for my mom though, having such crappy service on her birthday.

Oh, and this doesn't really count as bad restaurant service, but it was still hella annoying. On my birthday a couple of years ago, I sent in an order to Baskin Robbins for a custom order birthday cake, and we were told we could pick it up any time Saturday evening. Ok, so we go to pick it up later that night, and we wait for 30 minutes in that store while some guy goes in the back looking for my cake! Where the heck was it?! Who knows....but they eventually found it. And because we waited for more than 20 minutes, we got it free of charge. biggrin.gif So, bad service, but at least we got a free cake out of it.

I went to this korean restaurant once for my friend's birthday and it took all the food 3 hours to come. Some of the dishes came in half an hour, then we'd have to wait another hour for a few more dishes, etc. After 2 hours of waiting we complained to one of the waiters and he just gave us this really irritating, 'patient' smile and said that we have to wait because there's a waiting list for the food, they have to fill in the people who ordered before us's orders first. The people who sat in the table beside us came after we came and by the time they had finished eating, paid the bill and left our food was still not here =.=. And...the boss lady yelled at one of the workers at our table because he forgot to cut our meat for us. the poor boy was so scared.

edit: march 2007.

last summer I had just gotten a new poofy perm and so i'm guessing I looked like a rude HK streetgirl? anyways when we sat down and ordered the worker who was serving us made us pay first before giving us the food. none of the other customers had to do that, i was so offended.

There's this cafe near my house. The atmosphere there is awesome. However, their service sucks; they're SO slow at preparing the food even when there aren't a lot of people there.
