another time at a DIFFERENT dim sum place [i just dont have luck with these palces lol] the service was OK until the lady asked us what drinks we wanted and we just said we wanted water. she sort of scoffs at us and leaves. TEN minutes later we get out water and she slams the cups down so hard all this water splashes out. and she leaves. it then takes another TWENTY minutes for any cart to come around with anything. once we started eating we finished our water but then it took forever and a day to get anyones attention that we wanted more water. when we finished eating my friend and i decided to leave the biggest mess we could leave for them to clean up after the crappy service. so after a lot of soy sauce and chili sauce we left a few pennies in tip and left. lOL the only nice lady was this cute woman who remembered we wanted cha siu bao so she came to us IMMEDIATLEY after she got them haha but other than that just no ><
so any bad experiences with u guys?

I went to Chili's one time and there was NOBODY in the restaurant, but they made us wait like 15 minutes. After that, we ordered and got the food pretty slowly even though it shouldn't have taken long at all. There were like 10 workers there and they were all talking.. and they NEVER checked to see if things were okay.
We kept trying to get their attention because one of us needed something, but they never came over. I was so pissed.

there was a bunch of us and we gave our orders of drinks, but the tiny waiter came in with all of our drinks. after putting several of our drinks down...i guess he stumbled a little and spill one of our drinks on my friend's shirt. needless to say, the guy lefted to clean up himself and lefted without an apology. our friends called the manager to tell how the guy spilled a drink on her without saying sorry. so the manager made the guy say sorry. later (i think he did this on purpose for getting him in trouble) we waited about an hour for our food, and when our food finally came. the guy slammed our food down on the table and gave us this disgusting look. we all thought that guy probably spit or did something to the food...so we didnt touch it. then we informed the manager about our waiter's nasty service and food.
so the nice manager apologize...but we still have to paid the bill
but we left no tips and later we had ice cream in ben & jerry's

so tip well, it will all come back to you if decide to eat there again. and dont leave a mess either on purpose, or they might taint your food just to get even.

so my sister was telling the waiter all the things we wanted, and she was just standing there rolling her eyes because we wanted like for example:
i would like abalone porridge with no scallions or blah blah
and everytime my sister would add an order, she wrote so hard on her paper, it almost went through.
when we were done, she rolled her eyes and was talking with some other people that was there
we finished our food, and put tip WITH the check thing
and they RAN after us and was all "why you no leave tip?"
and my sister got SOOOO mad, she was like: "WE DID LEAVE TIP, IT WAS IN OUR BILL. READ THE RECIEPT *cussing at the lady*"
then the lady was all "ohh ohh, uuhh, sorry sorryy ha?"
we still came back to eat there though
I HATE when that happens

the person that left a mess on the table on purpose, i hope someone spits in your food on purpose. thats messed up. when restaurants get busy, they have mess ups. i understand about crappy service, but imagine this. they deal with bunch a dipshiet customers every day that leave them no to little tip, so i can imagine them being anal all day since most of their income comes from tips and they probably make a bit less than minimum wage to minimum wage. i bet most of you never worked in a restaurant. but in some cases, some people dont even belong in a restaurant cause they are too stupid to make an order on the computer.

Geeze ... Calm down ...
I've gotten bad service before.
At Red Robin, the waiter wouldn't give us refils on sodas and fries.
I mean, it's bottemless so I expect alot.

Seriously!?!? My sister and her friends have this thing where they try to eat as many baskets of fries as they can at Red Robins. Last time, they even told the waitress and she was like, "okay, I'll help you!" Their record is 10, hahaha. Go to the Northgate Mall Red Robins! o_O;"

i wanted to sit by the big tables, and the waiters told me to move to the individual table.
i didn't want to, but i still obeyed them.
the waiter threw the menu @ me and walked away
i left no tip.

He took our food orders and I think he forgot. We got his attention for a drink refill. Never got it, but we finally got out food almost an hour later! We reminded him about the drink, and he never came back, so my dad snagged the arm of some other waiter for that refill. We didn't dare ask for refills on the basket of biscuits. Eesh.
After it all, my dad took him aside and asked him if there was some problem, like....if maybe he was new and just adjusting to the job, being busy and all. He said he'd been doing that job for over two years already. O.O; So my dad was like, "You better work on your service. You did a pretty poor job tonight, and it was my wife's birthday." We left him a dollar tip. HA.
Man, I felt so bad for my mom though, having such crappy service on her birthday.
Oh, and this doesn't really count as bad restaurant service, but it was still hella annoying. On my birthday a couple of years ago, I sent in an order to Baskin Robbins for a custom order birthday cake, and we were told we could pick it up any time Saturday evening. Ok, so we go to pick it up later that night, and we wait for 30 minutes in that store while some guy goes in the back looking for my cake! Where the heck was it?! Who knows....but they eventually found it. And because we waited for more than 20 minutes, we got it free of charge.

edit: march 2007.
last summer I had just gotten a new poofy perm and so i'm guessing I looked like a rude HK streetgirl? anyways when we sat down and ordered the worker who was serving us made us pay first before giving us the food. none of the other customers had to do that, i was so offended.
