I'm think of applying to Queen's university as a transfer student from America with an economics major. Does anyone know anything about this university? or any university in Ontario you would recommend regarding my major?

I can't tell you too much about the Econmics Major at Queens but I can tell you that Queens University has a very good reputation in Ontario as being a very competitive and prestigious university. It's located in Kingston, Ontario - 3 hours from Toronto. I've been reading the university catalogues recently and its ranked #1 for "overall student satisfaction" among 30 canadian unis. Over 15, 000 full-time students. It's renown for its School of Business, the Humanity and Arts Courses and Teachers College. I think Queen;s Uni is a very good school to transfer too.
Here's the link to Queen's Economics Department for you to read more if you have't read it yet:

I would also suggest you definately check out University of Toronto for Economics.
I hope I gave you some insight.

Queen's is the most prestigous university in Canada. It's better than McMaster, McGill, UofT, Western etc.
I think the only uni closest to it's standards may be Waterloo but only in the computer/engineering field.
Anyways, Western (located in London, Ontario) is also very well known for it's business faculty.

I'm not going to be of much help, but this site has a list of all universities in Canada (if you scroll down, you'll find ontario) and you can check out the universities yourself.
