Rock Lee is one of the key stars on Naruto. Some Naruto fans often disregard him saying, "Pshaw! Lee? He's just a goofy dude Masashi Kishimoto created as a break from his more harder-to-draw characters." But we soon find out, there's more than what meets the eye.

He made his superb "Boku no namae wa Roku Lee!" entrance at the end of episode 21, dazzling Sakura from the outset of the chuunin exam. He gave Sasuke the beating of his life in episode 22, reducing the latter's Sharingan to ashes. Then he rescues Sakura, from the filthy, lecherous Sound-Nin in part 1 of episode 31. The unforgettable, mind-blowing battle with Gaara in part 1 and part 2 of Episode 48. Then, Lee's drunken reverie with Kimimaro part 2 and 3 of episode 123; also parts 1, 2, and 3 of episode 124. < EDIT: *Thanks for the correct episode info here, kamui_hime! Then, there are the more recent episodes. Lee, super hardworking ninja, is king of the Naruto fillers. Who can forget the 'Clash of Tears! Hot-blooded teacher and student showdown', episode 196? My favorite Lee episode is the dojo challenge, episode 193. < Absolute hilarity ensues with Imposter Gai. He drops tears of joy over the students dedication in part 2 of episode 199.

I agree, xhkxboix, I also love Naruto's nicknames for his mentors; i.e. "Granny Tsunade" (Tsunade-baachan, Episode 52 ) and "Closet Pervert" (Muttsuri-sukebe, Episode 195 ) for Ebisu. "Perverted Hermit" for Jiraiya (Ero-senin!! Episode 85 ) is exceptionally classic.

chickyl3aby, it's true! I didn't like Lee at first either. I was horrified at his overexaggeration, his feminine outfit, his unruly devotion to his teacher..until I couldn't help holding in the laughter at his lovable antics.

Hehe, awesome possum, losborrachos. Manabu Akamon: ambitious, middle-aged extraordinaire taking the chuunin exam at age 38. On Wikipedia's Naruto Character List it states:
"Manabu Akamon is an unusually-aged Genin, who was seen taking the Chunin exam. He sat in the front row. His presence seems to indicate just how difficult the exam is. His background is generally unknown." Hehe, is "Norman" his name in the English-dubbed version?
