i'm going w/ the Astros since i'm a fan but i respect the White Sox for the way they played thruout the season .....very much like the Astros - 2 teams that overcame a lot of the naysayers to make it to the big dance

The White Sox have a very good pitching rotation, but the question is can they come through in these situations. Buerle and Garcia I think are pitchers you can rely on to come through, along with I guess Hernandez. Contreras and Garland both can lose games and although pitching gems against the Angels must come through.
Their power hitters haven't been coming through much other than Paul Konerko's blast in the last game, but if Podsednik gets on base they have a chance with either Tad if he's batting second, Carl Everett, or Paul Kornerko to pop him in. Joe Crede is a dangerous hitter in the 8 spot, I'd watch out for him too. If they can hold off the Astros offense and score at least 3 runs they'd take the series easily.
The problem is can they score against the Houston pitching? I say yes, Clemens has proven to be hittable a few times and Oswalt gives up runs too. The Astros top three pitchers can only take them so far, and they can't start relievers. Backe I feel is unreliable.
A fact to bring up is that the Astros managed to hit the very best that the Cards threw at them, including the Cy Young candidate Chris Carpenter. You could say that the Cards lost because of the lack of offense, but if the pitchers had pitched well and held the Astros to 1 or 2 runs then maybe they would've won

White Sox fans deserve it, plus they've been waiting for 88 years..
..but Jeff Bagwell and Craig Biggio are so loyal, I feel they deserve a championsip too

garland and buerhle totally rock. freddy garcia tends to be a little shaky, and he's the one that scares me the most whenever he's pitching. contreras did pretty well yesterday, though neal cotts and bobby jenks completely owned last night. 2 men on base, w/ one at 3rd, and no outs and we STILL got out of that one. joe crede has been awesome w/ his defense and his hitting is always at its best whenever we REALLY need it. iguchi did absolutely nothing last night, but heres to hoping he'll do better tonight. and scott podsednik rocks. =D 2 out rbi triple.
GO SOX.
WOOT WOOT!
