i'm going to buy ipod, but i confused between classic and itouch.
can anybody tell me plus and minus of those products also the application.

I like both songs and vids. which one is better? classic or itouch? thx

I think you should get the ipod touch because since you stated that you liked both music and vids, the ipod touch has a much bigger screen so you can see things better. Also if you were to get the ipod touch now you would get the 2.0 firmware anyways so you can get free applications on your ipod and if you have money you can buy applications too. But the thing is if you dont have wifi it is kind of useless because you dont get all the fun stuff, unless you know how to do stuff like ssh into it.

I have a problem. My computer doesn't recognize my ipod shuffle anymore. Whenever I plug it in, a box would pop up and say that 'The ipod cannot be synced. The required disk can not be found." I can still charge my shuffle but I can't delete or put in new songs
Does this mean my ipod doesn't work anymore?

I forgot to mention that now when you get the ipod touch the battery life is much better, and it has a built in speaker so you get even more freedom when watching movies. Also they are so cheep now the 16gb is only 300 and the gb is only 230 not really sure about the 32gb but i am pretty sure its like around 400.

The classic is mostly for those that want to keep a library of music/pictures/videos. The touch is for those that want multi-purpose. You can use the touch as an organizer, media player, web browser, etc. If you find yourself watching a lot of videos, the 3.5" screen on the Touch would justify your purchase. Other then that, if you're going to listen to music most of the time, just get a classic. It's no different unless you want the Touch for aesthetic purposes. I have a touch myself because I find myself needing an organizer and something to show my media to.

how come firefox doesnt work for me when i have itunes installed on my computer?
i think it worked when it was already running and then i installed itunes
but once i X out of firefox and try to open a new one, it'll open but it'll just be a blank page
i uninstalled itunes and it started working again
i dont have an ipod but i downloaded it anyway to listen to music but now im planning to buy an ipod and i dont think i will if this problem cant be fixed

The ipod touch uses safari which is the browser for apple although you could change your browser to mozilla if you want *not really sure about this but i have seen people with mozilla icons instead of safari*, and you cant really download stuff off of the browser you can look at the website but not download, unless you jailbrake it and then download stuff from installer or cydia, even with this you cant really download everything it is just select stuff. And it should work with any wifi lan.

Also if you buy one now you would get the 2G ipod touch and right now people havent been able to find a way to jailbrake it yet but they are working on it so it should be coming out sooner or later.

When my iPod was still working,
I would download videos that were already in mp4 format, so there was no need for a converter.
You can Google around for a website that shows you how. Or Pm me, and I'll try to link you.

Yes the ipod touch can only support mp4 format videos, but you can use a free converter called videora.

The Ipod Touch doesn't come with free applications. You have to download them off Itunes. What you probably mean is, the 2.1 software on the Ipod Touch allows more new applications?

I use the All-In-One IM app and it works fine. I managed to talk to someone on MSN at my school dance last week on my Ipod Touch. Sometimes though, you might get kicked out but it's better than nothing.

Yea the new one hasnt been jailbroken yet, and it doesnt come with free apps, you have to have an itunes acount to be able to get the free apps. And if i remember correctly there is an app on there that allows you to access MSN for free.

this must have been asked before but I was trying to transfer an MP3 song into my ipod but although its in MP3 format it can't seem to be transferred nor does it play in itunes... is it possible that even some MP3 format files are not accessible to itunes or to ipod?

Lyrics won't show up on my iPod nano 3rd generation.
But not all of the songs, just on Wonder Girls new album.
I just recently put them onto my iPod but they won't show up.
It says that lyrics are detected but not retrievable. Any help?

when my ipod freezes, i restart it. i think it's either pressing the center and menu button at the same time for like, 10 seconds, or the center and play/pause button? then the apple should show up and then you'll be fine?

i'm not sure. but i always do that when mine freezes.
