So I just checked out a show by Mustang at DGBD... Does anyone here know them? I think I liked them... but I was kind of two minds about the show.
They have a really different sound... There is a lot of Pink Floyd in them. And it is like at any moment, they are about to burst into any number of rock cliches. But just as the sound develops, it changes, and they play something you do not expect. I have only heard them once, so I'm not sure if this is intentional or not.
Btw, they played before a Japanese band called Marble Sheep. Marble Sheep is really, really good. If you ever get a chance to see them, totally go. OMG... If only Hongdae had a band as good as them. Wow.

edit - btw when you were at the club, what was the gender make-up? mostly gals? guys? or even?
just asking because sometimes i get the impression even in the indie scene most of attendees are female...

btw - The Mustangs is all I could find, was it them? Or was it just Mustangs?
Anyways - if it's The Mustangs it appears they're a bit new. They just put out an album (self-titled "The Mustangs") this year.

Like most shows in Hongdae, it was mostly women. Maybe 65%?
Anyhow the band name is Mustang or Mustangs or something like that. I think they will be playing at Bar Nana on Saturday at 11pm. Should be a good show.
Also, the 10 Speeds will be playing at Stereo on Saturday at 8pm. Great amateur band. Another show that is totally worth it. Much better than those lame Hongdae clubs.
