All they market now is actress/singer crap. It's not about being a musician anymore, it's about being a celebrity. Freakin pisses me off.

Honestly...the taiwanese and hong kong music industry right now just bloooooooooooows. I haven't heard anything good in years.

True, the markets are getting too commercial now...Hong Kong had some good newcomers in 2005 (after hving nothing excited for like 5 yrs [imo]) like Soler, Janice, Ivana...but nothing really good this year.
^ I agree. Taiwan has some good artists though. I would go for Sony. But thats b/c Jay Chou's in it and if I do get signed, I can meet him ^__^
I think SonyBmg is just the publisher of his record, he's under alpha for management... But SonyBmg is one of the best one with all the great singers like leehom, coco lee, harlem yu and etc. The new EMI Capitol is also getting better as they've signed so many good singers like jolin, yanzi and stanley wong

i haven't really seen any good new singers come out. u guys know ron ng? i dunno how he sounds but they're making a lot of actors into singers now. my friend's cousin was the old miss hong kong and she acted in the sequel to this series and apparently she's singing now too. i think justin is a really good singer though. he composes too apparently?
nan quan mama's like the understudies of jay chou right? i was talking to my uncle about it and he's like the artists of nan quan mama are like the understudies of jay chou and he composes for them and everything. but i like how their music contains a lot of different styles. from ballads, to rock, and etc. it's really hard to be able to sing each style well.
so sonybmg, Avex Trax, EMI, and warner? hmm...should i wait and finish composing a couple songs and include those in there too?
but i'm wondering if i should send it to all of them at the same time. cuz i remember reading somewhere i shouldn't send one to every single record label. and frankly, i dunno where i would send it to. i've looked on the site of sonybmg a while ago but i don't really remember.

eehhh? where are u going to audition for EEG?
haha. edison's ok lol. his acting's ok but he can't sing or rap or dance lol. i remember watching a video clip of him dancing, he looked like a monkey trying to fly LOL.
^not as easy as you think. They're changing a bit now. It used to be like that but they're actually trying to find people w/ talent and less looks (i.e vincy and david)
And for looks, they want a specific image.
are they? i haven't really kept up with the new artists from hk.
