i think you use paint shop pro, edit the images, and then in animation shop you edit the frames or something. can't remember i haven't used that in a long time...

It would be easier to use VirtualDub because that looks like it came from a video. Then they most likely used layers to create that white line on the right and added the text on the bottom right corner.

What VirtualDub will do, is extract every frame out and then you can say open it in ImageReady and be able to create a GIF from that. I'd delete a few frames because otherwise the size would be rather large.

i use Adobe ImageReady CS2.

the main idea in making an animated pic is to create different layers called frames. each layer with different action so u can place them in order to link them up.

for the animation u have, juz take screenshots of the person's action in different stages. the more screenshots you have, the smoother ur animation will be. then edit them as what i've said above.

one thing to take note is the starting and ending layer. it has the fading effect. so u need to create pic of same size and paint them with fading colours.

Windows Maker is free or has a free version I believe. If not, VirtualDub is free and does what you want. You need some image editing software (I use PhotoShop + ImageReady) or you can find a free one like gimp.
