i currently really really want to get a PSP, but since it has been out for a while, a new kind of portable gaming system might come out in a year or two and then i'll be sad cause i will feel like i wasted my money.
so..anyone know any future portable gaming systems coming out? (in a year or two)

In a year or two? Obviously Nintendo will come up with something during that time. They come up with a new portable system within every 1-2 years.

if i were you i wouldnt get the psp, its just really bad, load times are long, battery life is horrible. just get a ds lite =0). i love mine

DS fanboy. lol. i'm not going to say which is better, cos they have different focuses with different consumers. it's just incomparable.
new generation of gaming system will only be out every 4 year or so. anything in between it's just change of look, cover or size. PSP is still kinda new (a yr+), so it's very unlikely for Sony to have PSP2 in near future. DS is possible, though there isn't any news yet. no news for other companies too.
ps. you may have heard/seen Sony's Mylo (it looks like PSP). but it's not really for gaming.

Just get the PSP if you want it. Theres nothing in the near forseeable future that will have you say "damn, wish I waited to get this instead".
