I'm australian and am trying to make the states.... it seems like everything bar a community college is better than anything here...

BUT SERIOUSLLY - why is the acceptance thingy so subjective.... here u just need a score and u get in...

I have NO idea where i can get into... like clearly ivy league is impossible... but whats good and whats bad... i thought colgate was REALLY BAD because it had the same name as the tooth paste... how wrong was I!!!

so yeah

GPA (i dont even know what it is... my school gave it to me) = 4.0
SAT (i took them without studying because my mum made me)
Reading - 680
Math - 690
Writing - 630 (but essay = 12... yay)

im in top 3% of my class, and 99% go on to uni...

ahhhh... they care about extracurricular as well hey...

athletics rep, state TKD champ, 1st division soccer, prefect, academic mentor, community service, youth group, concert band... i dont know... i forget...

SO YEAH!!! what should i look to.... im doing SATs again... so thatll be fun... theyre at the same time as my HSC!!! lame....

hopefully... better than a community college wink.gif

Crazy school like what, any ivy?

If youre an international it is harder to get in.Most of your ECs sound pretty bland, you seem like a more academically oriented student.

I think you should list which schools youre interested in first.

you'll get into the majority of schools ranked from 50th to about 25th in the nation with stats like that.

i actually don't think the OPs ECs are bland at all. s/he has music, academics, community service, and athletics, along with leadership.

if you're aiming for a top 25 school though, you're going to have to raise the SATs by quite a bit (probably by at least 100 pts, since 2100+ is pretty much the standard for top-tier schools)

PS: i don't think you need to be worried about going to a CC

The Early Decision applicant pool does have a higher acceptance rate than Regular Decision, but that's because the people who apply have very competent stats. If you don't get into your choice school through ED, you'll most likely get deferred to Regular Decision anyway.. so it's like you have two chances to get into your choice school. In some cases however, the school will reject ED applicants, meaning they have to apply elsewhere.
