Haha thanks for the offer Jason (I really appreciate it) but I've just done the best I can and given the finished product to the people who requested it. If I come across any more problems though, can I ask you? rolleyes.gif Anyway, I think I've found my problem (I need a better light source) and I also want to take advantage of the chance to change my camera, which has been through quite alot (ie. little kids spilling lemonade on it) and will die on me any time soon.

Eeep now you've made me curious and I want to see what you can do lol. I'll see if they will let me send you the pictures wink.gif

Muddie, your retouching was really nice haha. I think it looks great.

naya there's a link that I posted which has a list of great tutorials for vector/vexeling. It's quite far back, though. I THINK it's at vexels.net or something like that. MAYBE if I'm in the mood, I'll make a tutorial (aren't I always saying that?). Lately it's been taking me weeks to finish just one vexel. What do you know about vectors? Like, are you experienced with the pen tool? If you are, that would make life so much easier haha.

biggrin.gif Hi. When working with GIFs like those, I would really recommend image ready to save time. If you want to use paintshop (which comes w/ animationshop), you'd have to paste each layer you designed from paintshop to animation shop because animationshop doesn't support layers. (I use to make my GIFs like this biggrin.gif )

With image ready, you import the vid into image ready, resize, blah blah....and then put your designed layer over it. In my tutorial, dry.gif the stupid site in which i uploaded my gif to, deleted my stuff so *%&$^@ ...yeah...hold up let me upload on my server.

Okay, so here's the design I want to achieve. (even though you're making avas...and this is a banner...just think of it as a ava, they're made the same way, just the size are different)

http://www.waabie.net/SoompiMofos/take-GIF.gif

Here's my blank design. No gif, no take, no nothing yet, just the design.

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b282/the...akegifblank.jpg

Notice here, in image ready, the "layer is over it" and then i placed the blending mode to "Linear Dodge" to make the square part seethru some what...

http://img524.imageshack.us/img524/3773/untitled23wn.jpg

thus, you'd achieve this:

http://www.waabie.net/SoompiMofos/take-GIF.gif

....soooo...since you wanted the pinkish stuff, you do it the same way. Design it in photoshop, then bring it over to imageready, put the 'layer over it' and then choose one of your blending modes and then wah-la!

Did that made sense? sweatingbullets.gif

it didnt make sense.. BUT I TRIED IT!! and IT DID MAKE SENSE!! lol.
i'm not a pro yet.. and some stuff are still confusing.. but if i keep practicing i will get better.
THANK YOU SO MUCH MUDDIE!! you are my gif saver<333

EDIT//
well.. ok.. how do i save it as a gif file then?
it only allows me to save as psd.

It's a pattern. Make lines however you want on a 5 x 5 or 10 x 10 image and go >> Define Pattern.

You left out the part of that post where the original poster also provides links to sites with detailed instructions.

There are lots of ways, but I find this one the easiest (and I don't think it's been shown in this thread before.):

I notice that stocks are used a lot in blending graphics a lot and I was wondering if anyone could post some tips on how to best use stocks or even just a simple tutorial of how _they_ would use a stock image in a graphic just so I know one way of using them. Just one or two examples to get me started, probably from there it'll be easier to explore other options and stuff.

get your marquee lasoo tool. Change the feather amount to maybe about 10pxl? around there. Then lasoo an area, and press DEL ^__^;

did that help?

Does anyone know how you can use Asian languages in Photoshop? I mean, it worked before one time and I have the right fonts for say Thai already installed like Angsana New and it works but NOT in photoshop where it just writes jibberish. I don't know how to make it work again. Like I was able to write in Korean as seen in my siggy but now it doesn't work properly anymore and I didn't delete any of the needed fonts.
